About
Henderson Brewery was founded in 2013, after industry veterans and beer lovers Steve Himel and Adin Wener decided there was an opportunity to apply craft brewing values and techniques to more approachable beer styles, in order to make beer that anyone would be happy to find in their fridge day after day.
Work began on our Sterling Road brewery in the summer of 2015. In January 2016, we sold our first beer at The Rhino in Parkdale and by May of that year, our taproom and bottle shop were in full swing!
Over the past decade, we've brewed hundreds of different styles, hosted hundreds of thousands of people, packaged millions of litres of beer, and won dozens of brewing awards

New Year, new beer. Boozy and warming, nicely balanced and some dry fruits in the mix. I usually do a lambic for New Year, but I had WAY too much acidic beer last night 😬

Gold, clear, sheet of white head, lazy carbonation. Solid malty, dry hay nose. Solid hay malt of decent density, some mild corn syrup sweetness. Not complex but solid drinkable and pleasant. I'm guess what they were aiming for and nailed it.

This Imp stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include alcohol, coffee, cocoa and an almost fuel type smell. First swig was bold, creamy and thick. Flavours of chocolate, coffee, a little black cherry and a little Melloids cough drops. Finish is roasted, dark chocolate with dark roasted coffee flavours lingering.

Can from the brewery. Pours a orange tinged golden, slightly cloudy, just the barest ring of head. Definitely fruity, with orange, citrus, (what does a goji berry taste like?) a little sweet malt, balance by a orange-pith slight bitterness and acidity. The fruit lingers. Really quite drinkable and pleasant.

Can thanks to HogTownHarry. Slight haze orange copper colour thin head. Pink grapefruit aroma. Flavours are fine. Not sure how you would describe Rush as a beer. This is fine. Not too impressive but grapefruit flavour throughout. some malt. some bitterness on the finish. Fine

Pours golden with minimal head that reduces to a slim ring. The malt comes through very clean, a dry hay, almost pilsner. Hops at, 25 IBUs, are pretty light, a little perfume and pine, with a little lingering bitterness. Underwhelmed, feels like they should have gone harder on the hops.

Can from the brewery. Pours a coppery brown. Taste bready toasted malts, the oak come through rather woody and green, mild bitterness and a little tannin. Lingers with tannins and bitterness. Not stellar.

Pours a copper blonde with a sheet of white head. Nose of those Meyer lemons and a mild sweetness. Taste of light grassy malt, grassy organics, mildly sweet lemon finishing with a light bitterness. Simple and fairly tasty.

A winey and slightly caramelized olfactory, biscuity, notes of toast, floral hops and a fruitiness reminiscent of oranges, pineapple and banana. One of the most complex olfactory encountered to date. The liquid is golden orange and fuzzy. Medium-sized foam is moderately tenacious. For taste, we have notes of orange, marmalade, with a warmth of alcohol that is accompanied by a caramelized and biscuited malted base. Pinot noir is felt just barely and gives an impression of sweet white wine. The hops are once again floral and have a slight bitterness combined with subtle spices and light alcohol as a finish. The body is ample resulting from moderately low carbonation. This beer is remarkably gustatory and olfactory complex. Some criteria of the style are not met but, nevertheless, it remains absolutely delicious. O:7.886 V:3.401 G:7.622 C:2.809 G:17.25 T: 38.968
