dark brown colour, minimal, quickly disappearing beige head; aroma and taste of coffee, some chocolate, ash and maybe hints of dried fruitiness (at lest in the aroma); nothing extraordinary, but quite good - probably will be better after some ageing

opalescent brown colour, minimal yellowish head; aroma of herbal notes, orange zest, caramel, some nuts and spicy alcohol, maybe vanilla notes; taste is the same; not bad, but the body is a bit weak for this high ABV...3.9 with kindliness and supportive attitude; re-tasted on 31 Dec 2016: bottle No#3101 (so, if they brew 2000 bottles per batch, this definitely needs some explanation as 3101 as a number seems to be considerably higher than 2000...): brown colour, minimal beige-ish head; aroma of dark chocolate, herbal notes, roasted nuts and some tangerine - complex enough for a barley wine; taste is dominated by coffee and over-roasted nutty-burnt rye bread notes, as well as some dark chocolate, maybe tangerine, too; not better than it was last year...

0.375 bottle #0415. Super hazy orangish brown body, huge tan head. Aroma of caramel, orange peel, toast, light citruses and apricot. Taste of caramel, toast, booze, minimal chocolate, orange zest and floral hops. Very well made barleywine. It stands up to the hype.

Pours a dark brown color, topped with a medium sized and nicely lasting beige head. Mild but nice chocolate aroma, some biscuity notes in there too. Sweet taste, slight chocolate and caramel, pretty decent final bitterness with some herbal aftertaste. A decent one, though nothing spectacular. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Brewsk Willis - The Winter Job Winter Warmer Ale on 09 Jul 2015 at 05:46 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Pours a hazy brown color, topped with quite hefty beige colored head. Nice retention. Aroma is malty with lots of fine chocolate notes: Taste starts sweet, some chocolate and some spices/herbs also present. Mild bitterness and that warming feel to it. Nice one.
