750 mL bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Weak aroma of caramel malts, stone fruits and a bit of chocolate. The taste is caramel, nutty notes, raisin, stone fruits, spice. Medium bodied, low carbonation. The commercial description says I have to be "brave" to try this. Mmm... no. I’m tempted to deduct a point for their pretentiousness, but I’ll refrain. It’s actually a decent beer.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a large soapy-creamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet bread, toffee and plum. The flavor was sweet and tangy raisin, toffee, caramel, brandy, toasty malts and a hint of cream. Long finish of raisin, toffee, brandy and cream. Moderately full bodied. Quite nice.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky yellow-gold color with a medium sized creamy white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was a lovey mix of sweet orange, tangerine and bread dough. The flavor flavor was very strong sweet sugar and tangy candied fruits - mostly pear, peach and orange with a strong yeasty and bready undertone and a hint of vanilla cream. Long finish of sweet and tangy candied fruits and just a touch of alcohol showing through at the edges. Thick body and amazingly creamy. Astounding!

On tap at the bocktown, nice place. First let me say this is no regular spice herbal beer, this is an ass kicker @ 10%. Probably should be in the american strong ale cat. Big dark pour. witrh little head. Surprizingly has a tart aroma about it but the taste lets you down a little. does have a detectable tart background but al the way this is mouth and throat warming volatile stuff, do not lite a match. Yes, difficult at times, that is until it makes yoru senses go numb. I think I’m gettin dizzy, wew. Sweet in its own way and this almost, but not quite, makes it cloying. Quite strong. Could be more civilized but certainly better than most wanna be barly wines, yes, thats the category, barely wine and I bet it would taste just like harvest after a few years.

On tap at la house de 1000. Very nice friendly tart anticipating aroma, like mild perfume across my olfactory. Very attractive inthe glass with a decent head. Brownish in color. Taste is mild friendly loving giving sourness, yum. I do detect some hints of sour cherries in ther? When I heard it was a sour, my mouth was watering so this is not quite as tart as I expected. It is like a cross between a real lambic and a fru-fru-fruity lambic. Not way this is 8%! This must be why it has more personal;ity than a fruti pop. Got to be the best dry log I’ve had. Very happy I chanced this and had it on tap, yummy. Could get a buzz on this easy if it really is 8%.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured an orange-tan color with a large creamy beige head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart and sour vague berries. The flavor was dry, tart and sour with vague berries and an off bread dough presence. Long dry and tart berry finish. Medium body. Meh.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured a slightly hazy yellow-golden color with a small foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sourish and tangy apple and pear. The flavor was sweet and tangy table sugar, candied apples, pear, a touch of apricot and bread dough. Long sweet and tangy candied golden fruit finish. Moderately full bodied. The alcohol was well concealed. Decent.
