From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Tart and funky with an aroma of sweetish pear, apple, and light bready malt. Flavour is tart, mild sourish and sweet. Body is medium. Nicely funked up.

Head gone in seconds; cold-hazed metallic orange beer. First a tad pharmaceutical, then absolutely peaches, fresh, and lactic acid. Furthermore Brett-like aroma, no doubt the Penicillium roqueforti. Seriously acidic, lactic and fruit acids. Finish is vinous, fruitwine, very aromatic and perfumey. Serious alcoholthinning, light burn, low carbonation, slick. Pretty impressive. Nice, if severe.

Beer #4 of 17 (8 beers on either side of #8000 plus the magic 8000th itself) Deep, dark purple and violet tinted body with a muddied, brown glow and a very fast-dying off-white head that goes away immediately upon pouring. Aroma of super acidic and sour notes with some vinegar kick coming through at first and then giving way to a ton of fruits, pitted notes, some strawberries and a bunch of funk from brett notes with a light dose of chocolate at the back edge, but more of the fruits and malt components than anything else in the nose. Full-bodied; Strong sweet, rich and very funky, soured and bretty yeast qualities show through with a lot of vinous and more deep sweetness from prunes, plums and strawberries, but a bunch of funky yeast and dry oak or foeder notes are the strongest flavours here with some tannin notes and a mellow earth quality, but the sweet and especially soured/tart notes are by far the strongest. Overall, a very nice and super complex, relatively easy-drinking beer for the alcohol and style, given that the complexity is comprised of much more than just the tart flavours and the sweetness. A very nice beer and obviously worthy of keeping this for so long and of course as a celebratory beer. This was the fourth beer of my 8000th celebration which continued in a positive direction. I sampled this 50 cL bottle, purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 05-February-2018 for US$9,49 sampled at my house in Washington a bit more than two years later on 18-April-2020, as Beer #4 (of 17) of the 8000th Beer Celebration!

Bottle/Fest. A- Light, funky, hay, mild citrus. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Funky, straw, mild acidity, lemon. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, funky finish. O- Nice balance. I'm not sure I would say it really fits the style but it's definitely drinkable. I liked this one more than I thought I might, although I do struggle to pick up specific flavors.

Not sure why marked out of production this seems fresh enough. Chestnut pour frothy head. Nose is Christmas spice and dark fruits. Tastes of dates, figs, plum, cardomon, cinnamon, slightly sour. Some wood and chewy finish. Interesting.

Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bomber poured into a glass. Clear copper with small beige head. Aroma is Brett, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is Brett and off. I don’t know if this was off or if it was that different.

On tap at Tip Tap Room, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out lots of wild yeast, with tart funky cherries and some oak. Flavour is very odd, with manure, balsamic, funk and oak. Dirty drain on the finish, with some manure. Not too impressed.
