12 oz. can, bought Oct. 16. Roasty malt smell as the beer pours. Close up, there’s also a lot of sweet chocolate smell. Solid black body with a thick head. Interesting, since I’d think peanut oil would kill head retention. Some peanut turns up in the nose after the first few sips. Starts out with a big chocolate taste, but swing further toward peanut butter, possibly with the sugar of peanut butter adding to the sweetness. Overall effects is, though, not really what I’d like in a beer. Reminds me of the Canfield’s Peanut Butter Fudge soda, which I just didn’t care for eaither. Knocking further points off for a nasty aftertaste.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/29/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red/light brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, maple, toffee, toasted brown bread, fudge, vanilla, cream, and salt; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, dark fruit, and herbal/roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, caramel/salt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, maple, toffee, toasted brown bread, fudge, vanilla, cream, and salt; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, dark fruit, and herbal/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, maple, toffee, toasted brown bread, fudge, salt, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, and herbal/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, caramel/salt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Slight dryness from hop/roast bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky/saline balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.5%. Overall this is a very nice dessert style brown ale! All around nice nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, caramel/salt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Really rich and complex on malt; with just enough bitterness to not be overly sweet. This tastes a lot like Creme Brulee, but in brown ale form. A very enjoyable offering.

16 oz. can. Brown (almost Amber) in color with weak tan head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, cocoa powder, dark fruit.
Flavor comes off almost artificial. Candy like. also shows a week metallic hint. Very light in body, (nearly watery). Not a very convincing performance on this beer. I will pass on this one.

can - very dark brown pour, smells of chocolate, peanut butter, and some roast malt. It’s sweet with the advertised chocolate and peanut butter apparent. Medium bodied. There’s some bitterness in the finish. It’s kind of artificial tasting as others have said, but it’s still rather good.

12oz can thanks to Toby. Dark brown pour, topped off with a beige head. Aroma is straight up Reese’s followed by some of the rich roast grains. Taste continues on with the chocolate and PB up front, not overly sweet, blends well with base style.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Spruce Creek Provisions. Appearance is cloudy bright yellow with nice sparkle, 1/2 finger-width ephemeral fizzy white head and trace lacing. Aroma is wheat, mild pineapple/fruit and sour. Taste is moderate sweet pineapple and wheat. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation and sweet, yeasty finish. Overall, didn’t get banana or clove. Nice mouthfeel and dominant pineapple. One dimensional. OK.

Can. Sweet milk chocolate and peanut butter aroma - like candy. Dark brown with a small tan head. Sweet milk chocolate, peanut butter, and bitter herbal hops flavor. Too sweet, and the hops clashes with the peanut butter. Medium body and carbonation. I’m not a fan.
