I liked this last time I had it, but that was 1997. 13 years later, here’s what we’ve got. Dark brown colour. Somewhat fudgey aroma. The palate is fudgey, chocolate with some brownie notes. The beer is a bit too dry, perhaps from the high(ish) level of alcohol. It detracts from what should be a nice, sweet, malty stout.

Bottle, thanks for sharing Todd. Toffee aroma, some artificial butter, a bit like a stale Danish, dark sugar. Pretty chestnut, fine carbonation, golden lace. Roast, sirupy, heather honey. Medium body, feel light initially, but gives way to a whiskeylike burn. Strange spicyness, quite intreresting.

Bottle: Poured a clear black color porter with a medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry roasted notes with some very light coffee notes. Taste is also a mix between some light dry roasted malt notes with some light coffee but no black chocolate notes that I usually like in this style. Body is a bit thin with some average carbonation. Ok overall but a creamier body and more character would have greatly benefited this beer.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists mainly of deep caramel and toffee malt. Taste is also a mix between some medium sweet caramel malt with notes of toffee. Full body with limited filtration and good carbonation with no discernable alcohol. I would have like more banana ester but still very well done and easily quaffable.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown, almost black color ale with an average size foamy head with good retention and limited lacing. Aroma of deep caramel malt with some toffee notes. Taste is also dominated by some deep caramel malt with some toffee notes and some minimal hops presence. Body is bit too thin with good carbonation. Loads of character for style that can be often quite bland.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color lager with a good size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of deep caramel malt with a nice dry hoppy finish. Taste is also a mix between deep caramel malt with limited sweetness and a dry hoppy finish. A bit more intense and hoppy then the style would usually suggest but still easily drinkable. Full body with limited filtration and good carbonation.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A black beer with a brown shine under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty and very roasted giving it a slight acidic note, also a light coffee note. The flavor is sweet malty and roasted, with a slight acidic note in the back ground. A bit boring.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy orange beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma is sweet with notes of hay, straw, and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of hazy, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet and very wheaty, combined with strong notes of citrus - a bit too much for me. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of both citrus and wheat, but the body is thin.

Cloudy light blond color. Light plastic aroma and some spices. Dry and thin mouthfeel, some citrusy fruits and very light sourness. Short. Nothing special.
