Description
As of 5/24/25 Wasatch Brewery beers will no longer be brewed in Utah. They will be brewed in the Monster Brewing network.
“Where’s the beer? Where are the breweries?” Those were among the first thoughts Greg Schirf had after moving to Utah from Milwaukee in the early 80’s. Incredibly, drinking and brewing were all but forbidden. Greg took matters into his own hands and did what any self-respecting midwesterner would do: He started a brewery. Wasatch was the very first brewery in Utah – and one of the first craft brewers in all of the U.S. – brewing award-winning brews since 1986.
In 1988, Greg Schirf proposed another bill to the Utah Legislature making brewpubs legal in Utah and opened the first brewpub at the top of historic Main Street in the resort town of Park City. Wasatch continues to misbehave, turning out naughty beer after naughty beer year after year.

Bottle from BevMo. Pours hazy amber with a 3 finger foamy off-white head. Pie spice aroma. Medium body; frothy carbonation. Lot’s of sharpish flavors. Cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg, and maybe others. The flavor is mostly spice - and it’s quite acceptable. Finish? Spice!

Courtesy of douglas88. This little 7oz twist off bottle pours deep gold in body with thin white head. The aroma is muted with organic like notes as well as sweet honey, floral hops and a touch of malts. The taste is malty sweet with honey, floral hops, sweet malts and growing to tepid levels is some floral hop bitterness. This ends on the sweet side and a bit disappointing consider how much I enjoyed the Classic Lager.

Courtesy of douglas88. This little 7oz twist off bottle pours brilliantly clear gold with semi loose white head. The aroma is modest in strength with sweet honey moving toward a pleasing mix of graininess and floral hops. The taste is crisp with grains, corn kernels and some light amounts of sweet honey coated malts. To midway a floral hoppiness builds along with a lesser amount of spicy hops in tow. It rolls smoothly into more grains and malts to the finish. Very nice summer brew. Well done.

Sample from the girls at Plaza Liquors in Tucson, thanks! Clear brown, small tan head. Aroma of caramel. Taste resembles a sweet scotch ale. Not bad.

Shared with ibrew2or3. thanks Dave. second in out ’slammer series’, golden pour, white head. aroma and flavors, malty, some floral hops, pale malts are little more forward. Bitter hops, pale malts, while keeping a nice honey approach although this one had more of the pale lager / bitter approach.. Enjoyed the classic lager more.

Shared with ibrew2or3. thanks Dave. Perfect sessionable bottle. clear golden, white head. aroma, light spices, floral hops, very organic with vegetable like nose. flavors, sweet sugary-honey palate, floral hops, malt is mild with a nice fresh hop finish that for a pale lager doesn’t linger in the overly metallic finish. Light, and refreshing. Could really ’slam’ a few of these.
