Draft. Deep brown/black body. Frothy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate. Hint of coffee and floral hops. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/slick texture, lively carbonation. Rich and nicely balanced. It expertly avoids the saccharin sweetness of lesser made sweet stouts that are this rich.

Heavily roasted. As this is the non-barrel aged version, it does not have the vanilla-oak character or the bourbon. I do taste some wood nontheless, and some cherry as well. Red win, and a thicker palate than the aged beery. some soy sauce in the finish. Excellent.

Winterfest 2013. Brown color. Hot pepper in the aroma and the flavor, some burn in my throat. Too much pepper for my taste.

Winterfest 2013. Brown color. Very well carbonated. Sweet with caramel and hop resin. Solid beer. I canβt say I realized this was a lager while drinking it. A little thin on the palate.

Bottle 240/276 thanks to alen. Pours with a near black hued body with a small tan head. Aromas are of cola, brown sugar, bourbon, dark fruits, leather, oak and rich raisins. Flavors are of bourbon, leather, tannin, dry. Slightly odd finish. Lightly ashy finish. Great bourbon warmth. Bitter. Medium carbonation and fuller bodied.

Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a near clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a lot of sweet grains with some bourbon with a hint of underlying grass. Flavor has more balance with a grassiness that works well with the bourbon and has a sweet grain backbone.

Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a clear orange amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grains with just a bit of hoppiness and a backing cedar note. Flavor starts similarly with sweet grains that last throughout with a bit of pine hops and a cedar finish.
