Brassigaume 2023. Clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of stone fruits, citrus, tangerine. Taste of citrusy hops, stone fruits, apricot, long bitter finish.

Bottle. Imperial porter double barrel aged in Rum and peated Whisky barrels, according to the label. Aroma: Mocha, fudge, peat notes. Taste: Sweet fudge, licorice, peat, boozy, mocha notes, hints of dark chocolate and almond, some roasted malt. Medium to over medium sweet, low bitterness. Full body, no carbonation. Typical La Calavera barrel ageing. Nice.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy golden, dense thin white head. Aroma: Tart and a little sweetness, peach, subtle funk. Taste: Over moderate to medium tart, vinegar notes, fruity sour peach, subtle funk and oak wood. Long lasting dry-ish finish. Medium body, below average carbonation. Typical La Calavera. I like it.

Bottle. A while ago La Calavera beers were widely available at good beer shops in The Netherlands, unfortunately not anymore nowadays. Fortunately, being La Calavera lover and top La Calavera rater on RateBeer, I found some new ones at Dranken Geers in Belgium. Color: Slightly hazy pale golden, very thin white head. Aroma: Tart, funky, fruity grape. Taste: Moderate to over moderate tart, wine vinegar notes, grape, wood, subtle funky. Sweetish notes in the background. Dry-ish. Medium body, below average finish. Well done again. Well balanced.

Sampled from the tap at Wild Brew. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely. Aroma has a combination of strong roast and whiskey with a bit of bitter dark grain backing. Flavor has bitter dark grains and bitter chocolate with some earthy roast supporting.

Couleur orange/ambre, col fin blanc surtout sur les rebords.
Arôme sur un bouquet de fruit fermenté - léger côté barrique repris par un effluve vinaigré qui se démarque tout en couvrant un peu trop le volet du raisin.
Palais est marqué par le caractère aigre-sour avec ce côté de saison belge qui arrive, avec peine, en fin de bouche. Le côté vin blanc et barrique donne un léger fini tannique mais le tout perce sur la fin avec une acidité qui oscille vers la rhubarbe et la groseille verte tout en ayant un effet acétique pas spécialement agréable.
