Light amber, has some tartness, light malt character, and a fair bit of saltiness. Good example.

Dark brown, looks like nitro head. Very beany coffee nose with some sweet malts, very coffeeish taste, with sweet milk chocolate backing malts. Mostly a coffee thing, but the beer is a good showcase.

Billed as a black kolsch, it not surprisingly doesn’t have any kolsch-like character. But it is a pretty nice interpretation of a schwarzbier with a good chocolatey malt character.

This darker ale has a pronounced peat smoke aroma. The palate is more balanced, but definitely sticks to a fair amount of peat, backed by slightly sweet caramel malt notes. There is a decent amount of malt complexity, which helps to make this beer a better than average example.

This pale ale lives up to its name with a strong orange hop aroma and flavour. Clean malts provide backing to showcase the hop character. A little heavier than I might like for this type of beer but that’s about the only issue.

Bottle now marketed as Darth Barrelium: Poured a deep black with off white head. Aroma was yeast, chocolate, woods, vanilla. Taste is sweet sticky chocolate, Belgian yeast, and more of a winey barrel than oak.

Tap: Poured copper with white head. Aroma is hoppy. Strong hops bitter through with alcohol finish.
