At Capital Brew fest.
This was poured into a mini - snifter.
The appearance was a hazy burnt red color with tints of crisp orange along the sides of the glass. There’s a light smeared lacing stringing itself into the beer.
The smell had a super sour to tart orange peel and slight sweet clementine aroma with a nice sweet stickiness all inclusive and actually slightly appealing.
The taste was there, yes sour and tart and bringing back that sweet sticky clementine appeal in the taste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat there but didn’t distract too much from the palate.
Overall, hmmmm...a sour I could like...I just wonder what true sour fans think of this. To me, it’s balanced and keeps away distracting vinous qualities - so yeah I can dig this stuff.

This was poured into a mini snifter.
The appearance was a hazy burnt brown color with a slight concave lacing along the sides of the glass.
The smell had just way too much wine barrel to it. I had to let it open up for at least a good three minutes before even getting anything else. Even after that, a light vanilla tried to show up.
The taste was exceptionally vinous with a light vanilla trying to enter in.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with too much of a distracting vinous - ness rolling over my tongue.
Overall, uhh...after having this, it makes me think this wine - barrel aging should just stop. Putrid swill, wouldn’t try this if someone tried to hold my head down in the barrel.

At Capital Brew fest.
This was poured into a mini snifter.
The appearance was a fairly nice looking hazy somewhat golden orange color with a slim dancing lacing around the glass.
The smell was a nice grassy orange to light grapefruity conglomeration of sorts to lead to a nice dry piney - ness of sorts.
The taste followed the nose very well.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and slightly sharp but not overbearing. Still, there was a nice bitter sharpness coming over my tongue as an expecting AIPA should be.
Overall, pretty good AIPA that I know I would down again if I could get it on a regular basis. I certainly hope Broken Tooth is reading this.

Mini snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking semi - clear yellow color with a spotty lacing speckling the sides of the glass.
The smell was sweet with a decent corn malt and a light grainy / grassy wheatiness coming on it.
The taste was once again sweet through the corn.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. This one had a decent carbonation about it. It was nice and smooth as a good cream ale should be.
Overall, good for the style and am glad I was able to try more than enough amounts of this today. I’d have again and am hoping for the day when Broken Tooth will actually sends their cans to Juneau.

Bottle now marketed as Darth Barrelium: Poured a deep black with off white head. Aroma was yeast, chocolate, woods, vanilla. Taste is sweet sticky chocolate, Belgian yeast, and more of a winey barrel than oak.
