Bottle. It pours an unclear, golden body under a small, dense, off-white head. Clementine peel and a generic citrusy touch on the nose. Some white sugar. Quite bitter in the mouth, with a nice citrusy and orangey, or clementiney, flavor. Rather dry, didn’t expect that judging from the aroma. Medium to full bodied, pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish with orange peel like bitterness. I like this one, it’s a bit onedimensional, but nice anyway. 111128

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Allston, MA. Pitch black with a thin, beige head. Huge aroma of dark malts, coffee with some cream. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee, brown sugar. Full bodied with a good amount of smokiness in the finish. Light bittering hops. Decent but didn’t know it was an Impy stout until I rated it. Good but not going to really impress you.

Deep copper coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, yeast, coriander seed, a bit of caramel and some nice fragrant hops. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hops with a good nutty and herbal bite, showing some of the yeast characteristics and a lot of apricot and earthiness of the malt. Aftertaste is quite bitter from the hops with a nice pleasant yeastie and caramel kick. Overall, a nice ipa with a good complexity toward earthy malt and yeast. Very nice and good to sample. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia for US$6.99 on 09-October-2011 sampled at home in New Paltz, New York on 24-November-2011.

On tap. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a creamy off-white head leaving dense curtains of lacework. Intensely hoppy aroma with plenty of exotic and somewhat herbal hop accents. Medium-bodied, very interesting tropical fruit notes with an almost perfumy edge. A little yeast as well. The finish is dry and bitter. Excellent. 201111

Bottle shared with Steve and co. Forgot who brought this, but thanks! Black appearance with a light brown head. Fairly roasty, chocolate malty, moderately citrusy/piney hoppy aroma. Pretty easy drinking flavor with notes of char, chocolate, light smoke, piney, and citrus.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Solo hungover tasting in my hotel room! Hazt gold beer. Little white head. Light dry palate. Mild minerals. Wheaty malt, light. Mild orange citrus and some floral notes. Marmalade comes through towards the end. Finishes dry. Not bad but good do with the fruit turning up!
