Bomber. Pours a very dark brown with a large creamy tan head with sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a roasted malt with coffee and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a roast and smoke flavor with light bitter finish. A small alcohol burn but still easy to drink. A very good Imperial stout from Clown Shoes.

Bomber pours chocolate brown with amber edges and tan head. The aroma offers up roasted malts, a bit of spicy hops, a touch of earthy chocolate malts and a faint sensation of burnt maltiness. The taste is rich dark roasted malts and spicy hops to start and then it grows into more burnt malts and more biter resiny hops. At the edges I get thin ribbons of dark roasted coffee and chocolate malts. Tasty stuff indeed.

Bomber pours deep copper with a bit of haze and off white head. The aroma has sweet yeasty spices with some citrus hops, apricot and apple all swirling around. The taste is similar with only a modest level of Belgian like yeasty spiciness and then bolder notes of citrus hops and sweet sort of near earthy sort of peach nuanced tropical fruitiness. Toward the finish I get a bit of resiny hop bitterness that just improves upon an already pleasing experience and a degree of balance is achieved.

Bomber pours a nice deep amber with copper hues and tan head. The aroma has some sweet somewhat rich maltiness and a nice level of pine hops to go along with lesser amounts of roasted malts and earthiness. This thing offers up a great taste with a pleasing load of pine hop bitterness as well as fairly dark roasted malts and bitter grassiness too. It doesn’t seem these work together but they have enough body and depth to really meld and please. To midway faint earthiness and black tea are noticed while the pine hop goodness remains un-wavering in its rich yumminess.

22 oz bottle from Table and Vine, West Springfield, MA. $5.99. Black color in a shaker glass. Nose is light pine hops with mild roast. Thin bubbly tan head, light lace. Taste is spot on the nose. Mild pine needles, roasted malt and hop bite in the finish. Some chocolate malt. A mild lingering bitterness. Body is medium leaning toward the lighter side. High carbonation. Overall ok. Some good flavor however, I would choose other brews in this style before buying again.

Pours deep gold into a tulip. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Tropical fruit and resin aromas. Dried apricots and peach upfront turning to yeast in the lasting hot finish.

A clear reddish brown ale with a thick lacing brown head. In aroma, a nice chocolate malt with grassy hops, capucino, very smooth. In mouth, a big whollop of bitter chocolate, floral hops, coffee grinds, lingering and challenging. Very nice. On tap at Meadhall, Sept. 11 2011.
