Description

Redelijke standaard pilsner.

33 cl. bottle shared with Alex and Suus @ home. Murky yellow orange with loads of sediment. Not a few specks but whole clumps of yeast? protein? raspberries? Aroma is of sour raspberry with some hops and malts. Taste is tart but also a bit sweet. Nice mild sour but the looks are a bit off-putting.

(Draught at Helst, Amsterdam, 24 Aug 2018) Cloudy amber colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity, slightly sourish nose with notes of raspberries, bread and citrus. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, raspberries, grapefruit and a mild citric bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and quite interesting. Quite nice.

Bottle @ home. Clear a bit rusty orange color, medium to full sized white head. Pleasant aroma up front of malts, pine, piney hops. Flavor is malts, hops unfortunately have gone bad, not fresh piney, nor fruity, nor spruce hops, but unfortunately it tastes a bit sweaty and dusty. -- Edit: after warming up a little though the beer gets better and the sweaty notes are gone completely. Much better now.

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before August 2020. Clear, dark reddish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, gently fruity and a little resiny aroma of mango, orange peel, some lychee and traces of pine. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bitter, moderately fruity and slightly resiny taste of strawberry jam, orange peel, some mango and hints of pine, followed by a short, medium bitter, just slightly dry, a bit resiny finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. How on earth is this American? Very jammy and sweet, doesn't really have the hop profile of a true American DIPA, where is the resin? Pretty disappointing!
