Mini-keg thanks to Archie. Pours black with a brown foamy head - close to perfect but it falls away a little too quick. The nose has surprisingly fruity notes, oranges and dried fruit for baking with I think. The taste has loads more of the oranges, then grapefruit and finally an overly burnt finish - a bit like the smell of burnt bread or scones. The palate has a medium to large structuire, there’s a big creamy texture but the finish is slightly astringent. Overall, a really nice beer but the finish is slightly too burnt for my preference and this just ever so slightly spoils my experience.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of cgarvieuk. Pours a pale yellow with a slight haze and a white head leaving a discreet lacework. Fresh, citrusy hop aroma. Light body, a dry fruitiness with and almost astringent bitterness. Very refreshing and quaffable. 131011

This is the Fyne Munster Lager. Not a German Hefeweizen but a Dortmunder / Helles. Cask @ Bon Accord. Clear golden colour, off-white head. Nose is grainy, citric, fresh. Flavour is citric, grainy, grassy. Short, dry and crisp finish. Great stuff in a hot summer’s day.

Cask @ Bon Accord. I was quite keen on getting this one, and had very high expectations. Long story short: it’s a decent beer, but not too spectacular. Black colour, tan head. Nose is citric, bit of roasted malts. Flavour is roasted malts, fairly hoppy, citrus, pine. Slightly roasty and fairly bitter finish.
