Cask (handpump) @ Guildford Arms, 1 West Register Street, Edinburgh EH2 2AA, Scotland.Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090410]

Bottle, shared by Papsoe. It pours a clear, copper body under a small, beige head. Lovely resiny hops in the aroma, with some roasted malt in the back. The flavor has a nice blend of hops and caramel malt, with resin, pinecones and a nice bitterness. Full-bodied. Bitter finish. A really nice one, showing that also the Scots can use lots of hops if they want to. (090514)

Bottle, shared by Papsoe. It pours a clear, dark golden body under a small, off-white head. Malty nose with some hops in the background and a little cellar as well. Cellarish, malty flavor with some fruity hops producing a little bitterness. Rather malty finish too, with a decent bitterness. Dry, medium body. A decent beer, but rather uninteresting except as a session-beer. (090514)

Cask @ HAF09. Light brown colour, no head. Aroma is nutty, with caramel malts. Flavour of slweet cvaramel malts, nuts. Bitter finish.

Bottle, 4.4%. Vinous aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Good malty aroma. Quite bitter, but clean. Good maltiness to the flavour, a little soy.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with an almost fully gone head. Roasted malt and fruity hops aroma. Semi sweet and hoppy flavoured. Nice bitterness and smooth malt base. Ends bitter and light fruity.

Clear dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma had milk chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. Flavour was quite hoppy and had roasted malt, caramel, pine and grapefruit towards the end. Finished bitter.

(Cask by gravity at Bree Louise, Euston, London, 16 Apr 2009) Pale golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grass, citrus peel and citrussy hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of lemon, grass and generous doses of fresh hops. Light body, fairly dry. Fresh, hoppy and nice golden ale.
