We are Fyne Ales, a family-owned Scottish farm brewery. When our brewery was founded in 2001, the goal was not only to make the best quality beer, but to bring jobs, industry and tourism to our community and our quiet corner of rural Scotland. We’ve continued brewing in this spirit ever since. Drawing water from the hills and brewing in converted farm buildings, we create modern, ambitious and progressive beers in a wide variety of styles.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Clear golden colour, small white head. Almost no aroma, some biscuit malts. Flavour has biscuit malts, and is a bit hoppy.

Cask handpull at Battersea BF 09. Clean clear gold, thin ivory head. It’s over carbonated, but good. Tasty, slight dust on the hop, but good stuff.

Cask/pressure at Bow Bar, Edinburgh 13 Nov 08. Pale golden colored. A small white head. Aroma of citrus. Flavor is dry grapefruit. Dry bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 31/1/09. Deep amber in colour with a moderate, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and orange blossoms. Flavour started with some sweetness, apricot fruit and a citrus hop kick, before a decent bitter finish. Good.

Cask-conditioned at the Portcullis, Bristol 26/1/09. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Fruity, roasted malts and caramel sweetness in the aroma. Flavour was also sweet, with dark fruit and nuts and an uplifting hoppy, dry finish. Very good.

Golden color. Quite simple Golden Ale, well drinkable, soft mouthfeel, with a sugar flavor, and caramel. Easy.

A half pint of this one on cask was served by air pressure dispense at The Bow Bar in Edinburgh where we had a good drinking session early on a Thursday afternoon. Shining golden body. Filmy bubbly head. Floral smell. Succulent fruits in flavour with a nice hop bitterness support. Dry palate. Well bodied for the low ABV strength [13.11.2008].

500ml bottle from the Luvians Bottle Shop in St Andrews. Clear golden body with a slowly diminishing multibubbly white head. Fresh grassy to the nose. Light fruity acidity in taste with underpinning spicy hints. Dry and clean in the mouth. Soft carbonated and watery impression [07.11.2008].

Half, cask served by air pressure dispense at The Bow Bar. Low off-white head on top of a very dark rosewood body. Quite appealing smell of dark fruits. Flavoured with sappy grapefruits, carefully joined by earthy malts. Well rounded bitter ending. Good beer, however a bit thin in the mouth [Sunday pub crawl in Edinburgh, 26.10.2008. And a bottle at my room in St Andrews 06.11.2008]

From cask. Pours clear and deep amber, yet golden. Mild malty and roasted with a distinct hoppy note. Solid roasted malt flavoured with a solid bitterness coming through and with a minor liqourice note. Mild spiced hoppy and acidic bitter to dry finish.
