Very surprized this is made by Lion, thought it was some kinda import. Bottle appears old even tho I jsut bought it at Winerak. Opened the stuff smells old, can’t read the date code on the bottom, its smeared. The smell is reminicent of one of the few beers that made me gag, Jaguar, wew. Fortunately the taste is not as bad but its a Sweet older taste with a very slight tart hint behind it. Barely any carbonation. Color is hazy brown. Weird for a premium lager and I like lagers, so what gives. Not very enjoyable. I guess its just old, will try again if I ever come across it again. Somewhat oxidized beer finish, dull and old, did I say old yet?

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated to the edge. Aroma was slight pine but mainly sweet grains. Flavor also had a slight bitter pine note but sweet bread and grains were the dominate notes for this beer.

Labeled Stegmaier Summer Stock Pils: Horrid smell of buttery bran and corn flakes, with shitty undertones. Clear yellow, thin head. Watery. Lemony cardboard flavor. I get the sense that the attempt is to be different from a macro, but different isn’t always better. Pretty bad. Side note: After rating, I noticed this beer has undergone a series of re-branding. I think I know why.

Caramel and floral aroma, not real strong. Clear amber, thin head, some lacing. Malt forward with tea and grass notes. Filmy mouthfeel. Not bad, but there is something very Saranac-ish about it. I’m wondering if they source the same ingredients.

Bottle labeled Stegmaier White Ale: Shitty barley malt aroma. Cloudy golden, thin head. Weak coriander then plastic. Finishes tart. Somewhat watery. Bad representation of the style, but drinkable.

bottle - Pours light gold with a one finger white head. There’s a mild aroma of pale malt with a hint of hops. It tastes of sweet bready malt with some mild hops that unfortunately lack a fresh, crisp flavor, carrying a hint of cardboard instead. It’s not bad, but there are certainly better pilseners around.

Sample at the Hills Market Summertime Beer Tasting on 06/29/2010. This brew is a pale yellow-amber color with a thin and fizzy white head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Sweet grainy malt and mild hops in the nose. Light body with a lightly spiced hops and malt flavor. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. A little better than expected, but still a barely average Pils.

Bottle from a local discount grocery. Pours clean copper with a foamy white head that left rapidly. Aroma is lightly fruity. Not much of that. Rather thin body with active carbonation. Flavor is a little fruit/floral hop over a mild caramel backbone. Comes across as a bit watery. All that aside, it is craftier than a standard macro.

Bottle as Stegmaier Gold from local discount grocery. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is a bit bready. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is bready with a decent amount of hop - considering the style. Much more to this than a standard macro.

Bottle. Pours a clear, pale yellow-gold with a fizzy, small white head. Grainy malt aroma with almost no hops. Flavor is very sweet, bready, some caramel and sugary syrup, some weak earthiness, faint bitterness towards the finish. Light in body, average carbonation. Gotta drink this fella quick - warmth really brings out the worst here. Not terrible overall but there are better pale lagers for sure.
