Draft. Hazy amber brown color, white head. Aroma of mixed spice, rising rey bread dough. Taste is peppery spice, bitter finish. Nice change from the usual gourd beers.

Beer number five on my paddle and the only one without any head. Slight haze to the amber body, lively enough, but where did the head go? Hoppy nose, floral and mildly citrus, these attributes carry on into the taste. Can I call it ’middle of the road’ for an American IPA? My portfolio of the style is growing and this just seemed a bit ordinary and basic in it’s make up and character.

Free sampler at the brewpub on 11th March 2014. Light orange, old gold in colour, on top a wispy white half covering. Vinegar esters hit my nose, maybe some off fruit notes within the aroma as well, but definitely a vinegar smell. The taste was pretty sour, again vinegar came to mind. Slight woody feel, but too sour for my palate.

Beer four on my flight at the brewpub on 11th March 2014, the wife had a pint of it as we sat in the sun after a long walk to get here. A white bubbly head sits on the golden body, bright in the afternoon sun. The brew is fairly dry in nature with a citrus bent. Very refreshing and although not really my thing, my good lady enjoyed her’s immensely.

11th March 2014, third beer in my flight at the brewpub. My favourite, so I had a pint after trying all eight brews on tap that day. Clear body, deep amber with a good solid head, especially on the pint. I detected a slight over roasted malt feel to the whole brew, which I really liked. Semi-sweet and mellow, it just flew down my throat.

Beer number two on my flight at the brewpub on 11th March 2014. Comes a clear and good looking amber, white head. The aroma was leaning towards a citrus base with some toasted maltiness, as was the taste. Easy to drink and my second favourite of the eight beers I sampled while sitting in the sun outside the place with my wife and daughter.

First beer on my flight at the brewpub on 11th March 2014. Pale blonde, clear but thin looking, a white head on top. The nose was a mini blend of floral hopscotch and grain, the taste leaning towards citrus flavours, again with a grain hint or two. I thought it fairly bland and pedestrian in nature and my least favourite of the eight brews I sampled during my visit.
