On tap. Pours without any head or sign of bubbles over the hazed scarlet hued body. Aromas are spicy, oak, bourbon, lightly vegital, red wine, berries, tannic, odd peppery fruit notes. Flavors are fruity, good acidity, a bit vegital, red wine, juicy. Berries (seem like huckleberries, boysenberries or marionberry-esque). Jammy, cranberry type tannic notes. Very light carbonation and dry. I actually liked this quite a bit despite the peppery/vegital/tannic qualities of the fruit.

Nice slightly hazy golden coloured body with a hint of copper colours. Aroma of pure hops, a touch of malt and some nice pungent citrus notes. Medium-bodied; Strong cascade and grapefruit hops dominate the taste with a good malt balance, some light herbal and perfumey notes and a solid bittering finish. Aftertaste is one-dimensional with the hops coming out to play and showing well. Overall, a nice IPA showing a lot of hops and character, leaving the mouth perfectly bittered - a nice first beer after two weeks of traveling in non-beer countries. I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub with haddon90 in Newport Beach, California on 27-August-2011.

Blonde coloured body with a bright white head. Aroma of light malt, a touch of alcohol and very little else. Medium to Light-bodied; Fresh malt flavour with a hint of citrus and not much else except hay. Aftertaste is quite minimal in complexity with only some light malt and citrus coming through. Overall, not such a great beer, but nice in the heat of Southern California. I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub with haddon90 in Newport Beach, California on 27-August-2011.

Slightly orange coloured blonde body with a little white head. Aroma of fresh hops, light malt and a good citrus and grapefruit scent. Medium-bodied; Potent fresh hops show well, with a good malt backbone and some other light herbal tastes. Aftertaste shows a bit of grass, some light yeast and a good dose of citrus and grapefruit hops, all with a good malt backbone. Overall, a nice pale that shows well and leaves the mouth slightly puckered from the bitterness. I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub with haddon90 in Newport Beach, California on 27-August-2011.

Deep potent brown coloured body with a thin off-white head that leaves a nice lace. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, peanuts and a touch of chocolate. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavour with a nice texture, some good chocolate overtones and a mild sweetness. Aftertaste has a bit of class with some layered tastes, a bit of a roasty finish but good all-around. Overall, a very nice beer showing good flavour and a complexity that most stouts simply donβt have. I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub with haddon90 in Newport Beach, California on 27-August-2011.

Golden coloured body with a slightly off-white head. Aroma of sour grapes at first, but a lot of alcohol, some light malt and a touch of yeast. Medium-bodied; Potent sour flavour at first only lasts for a handful of seconds, then transitions to a malty, almost citrus like flavour - interesting. Aftertaste shows no signs of a sour with the focus squarely on a blonde with some light yeast flavours. Overall, an interesting beer and totally different than any other sour Iβve had. I sampled this pint on draught at the Newport Beach Brewpub in Newport Beach, California with haddon90 on 27-August-2011.

Pours with a small off-white head over a clear bronze body. Aroma is nutty, tannic extracted grain, and some spicy hops. Slightly fruity. I can smell the astringent tannins from the grain. Flavors are very husky, peanutshells, bitter, fruity and esters. Rough. Light bubbles with an astringent finish. Too hot of a sparge? My least favorite beer that I have had from Newport by far.

Growler thanks to someone at the Lost Abbey barrel tasting. Pours with a black body and a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, light woody notes, coconut, and a bit of a vinous hint. The taste is roasty, a slight sour tinge (odd?) also slightly vinous, with big notes of caramel. Maybe the roast is adding acidity, I am not sure. Dry finish.
