A mid-summer pickup of this brew at the local craft beer store, time and weather are good to try it. No previous knowledge of the brewery, I have been to McKinney, nice town. I am pouring into my ABGB tulip glass, why not? Cola colored and possessing a complementary light tan head, it presents decently. It smells of raisin and grain, slightly astringent but I’m here for the drink. I detect dark fruit, malt, sort of yeasty, crackers. Not bad, glad I had it, but not my cup of tea.

Draft at Saltgrass, San Antonio, TX, USA. Pours a nice brilliant brown, with moderate foam. Aroma is weak malty. Body is kind of light, with moderate carbonation. Taste is pretty sweet, with limited bitterness. Finish is fairly sweet. Overall, modest.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt with coffee notes. Taste is roasted malt, hints of chocolate and coffee, nuts. Decent.

Draught in Dallas at a couple of spots. I enjoyed this and found the rich malt to be pleasing. Crisp finish.

Bottled, from Wine & More, Plano North. Dark brown, small beige head. Coffee and licorice up front. Mid dry with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Salmiak, treace and coffee. Mid bitter finish. Well made.

Keg at Ginger Man, Plano. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Rich coffee aroma. Mid dry with light-medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Coffee and toast. Mid bitter grassy finish. While the malt character does not up to my expectations from the brewery name it is a pretty good dunkel, on the roasty side.

Tap. Pours clear golden orange, small white head, nice lacing. Aroma is Bready, grain, grass, noble hops. Flavors is light sweet,, light bitter, Bready. Light plus body. Solid example of a delicate style.

Bottle: Clear gold with a short white head. Wheat, banana, orange aroma. Sweet banana, wheat malt, orange malt flavour. A nice, very tasty and solid example.

Bottle (huge thanks to blutt59). Banana, orange, clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Clear golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet banana, orange, clove, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Nice body. A very well made beer - better than most American regular Hefeweizens.
