Clear glass growler poured into a snifter at a JStax tasting. Pours amber with oak aroma. Taste is intense sweet oak and some herbal hops. Imperial english IPA (if that is a style) with some typical sweet barley wine characteristics. ABV is pretty well covered; liked this more than I thought I would.

Approximately 3 ounce sample pour (in a plastic oversized shot glass) at the brewpub in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The pour is light haze brown golden, with no head. The aroma is chemical sweet, weird odd aroma, maybe it’s a touch of honey? The taste is the herbal sweet honey of the nose, artificial and odd. The palate is light to medium bodied, lingers with the weird sweetness. Flavor profile is a product of gluten free, I suppose, but just not my thing.

The aroma is big berry, sort of a generic black raspberry type nose. Pretty strong, hard to pick much up beyond that. The taste is artificial berry sweetness, perhaps a bit of the wheat grain peeks through, though this is all about the synthetic berry.. The palate light bodied, the berry flavor lingers.

The aroma is wheat grain, a hint of yeast and some clove. The taste is wheat grain, soft earthiness, and a touch of the clove yeast in the finish. The palate is light bodied, almost to being watery, though the finish is clean. Decent, just a bit dull.
