Sample at Hay Merchant. Orange-amber pour with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malty with a bit of hops in the background. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a grainy malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

GABF 2013. Pours a fairly murky brown appearance with a brown head. Looks nice enough but the aroma was pretty heavy on the phenols, banana especially, with some burnt malts. Flavor was a similarly burnt bread, bubblegum, and banana. Kind of a disappointment being that the Hefeweizen is so very tasty. Oh well, this one is drinkable enough. May give it a shot again next year.
