~12 oz draft at the Craft and Growler in Dallas, Texas. The pour is a clear amber with a small egg white head. The aroma is faint, what is there is malt, cracker, and straw. Clean, just muted nose. The taste is big cracker malt, mineral earth, straw, and finishes with hay. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, and an earthy straw herbal finish. Clean and tasty.

Shaker pint draft at the Ginger Man in downtown Dallas, Texas. The pour is a lightly hazed orange golden with a smallish white head. Nice lacing left on the glass. The aroma is subdued floral and citrus hops, balanced nicely with toasted cracker malt. The taste is the cracker malt, shows a touch of crystal malt "tea" type flavor, then moved towards the dry floral, slightly earthy hops. The palate is medium bodied, un filtered mouth feel, and the dryness of the floral hops. The after taste has gypsum and mineral. Nice beer, nice balance between malt and hop - though this didn’t taste like it was super fresh.

Shaker pint draft at the Flying Saucer in Addison, Texas. This is a beer I have been looking to try for a very long time. The pour is a hazed yellow orange with a one inch white head. The aroma is grainy wheat, clove, and a soft banana. Nice fresh, typical Hefe nose. The taste is the wheat malt grain, mixed nicely with soft lemon, a bit of lemon rind, and then the yeast of soft banana and herbal clove. All flavors play together nicely. The palate is medium to light bodied, a silky unfiltered mouth feel, and a clean crisp clove finish. Really nice Hefeweizen, I am very happy to have tried it.

Sample at Hay Merchant in Houston. This beer is a murky ruddy amber color with a medium creamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Bananas and toasted malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of banana, caramel malt and a bit of chocolate. The finish is sweet with a banana aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a clear amber with small frothy off white head. The aroma is a strong vanilla and caramel malt. Medium moutjfeel with a sweet vanilla malt and brown sugar flavor with nice lingering sweet finish. Really enjoyed this one.

Tap. Poured cloudy light yellow amber with a small white head that left good lacing. Aroma was classic wheat and banana. Flavor about the same, mildly sweet with a light clove note. Body was light. Decent Hefe.

On tap at Strangeways. Pours with a hazed deep bronze body with a massive tan head that leaves great lace. Aromas are of burnt caramel, canned pineapple, creme brulee, caramel, flan, medium esters, lots of booze. Some fusel alcohols. Flavors are quite bitter, some faded hop character, burn caramel, alcohol, toffee, flan, raisins. Really deep caramel and caramelization notes. BIG. Deeply warming, medium to creamy carbonation....REALLY BIG.

Growler (courtesy of BarZigKin - huge thanks). Banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma - excellent. Cloudy golden yellow color with giant white head. Lightly sweet banana, moderate clove and light wheat malt flavor. Body on the light side. A great US Hefeweizen - spot on style-wise. If the malt flavor was more prominent, would have been in my top 5 for the style.
