Bottle. Pours deep mahogany with a medium creamy tan head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is cardboard, lactic sugars, cocoa. Flavor is fairly sweet, lactic sugars, roasted malts, stale coffee. Lightish body but a creamy mouthfeel. Not too bad for a 3.5% beer actually

Bottle - bomber. Pours clear deep reddish amber with a medium quickly diminishing beige head, dissipates to a ring but laces fairly well. Aroma is very malty, nutty, toffee, caramel. Flavor follows, medium sweet, no real bitterness, malts coming at you from every direction, some honey as well. A bit of a lingering odd, a bit tart, finish, but otherwise not so bad. Medium body.

Received in trade.
The appearance was a jet black in color with a two finger off white to tan foamy head that dies within about one minute. The lacing is somewhat clingy yet sporadic with one ring of lacing near the top of the snifter.
The smell had dark roasted chocolate mixed well with sticky sweet licorice.
The taste was sweet through the previously mentioned flavors with a nice roasty yet sticky aftertaste and dry finish.
On the palate, it sits about a medium to heavy with a pretty good carbonation for the Russian Imperial Stout style that gently brushes against my mouth and tongue in a roasty sort of way.
Overall, pretty good Russian Imperial Stout well worthy of coming back to.

Light bodied traditional style porter. Aged in coco nibs from Ghana and fresh vanilla beans the coffee come through but vanilla not so much. Dark toasty and slight chalky. Thin but tasty enough.
