Bottle. Pours orange gold. Nose and taste of perfumy hops, caramel malt, grass, alcohol soaked citrus and orange peel. Slightly spicy malt. Medium body. Finishes bitter orange/slight resin.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, coriander seed and pungent clove notes - nice. Full-bodied; Strong wheat and yeast flavour at first with some pungent curacao and other citrus flavours with a lot of alcohol warmth. Aftertaste shows a pleasant trip with a good deal of wheat, yeast, citrus and sweetness - all balanced well. Overall,a nicely done tripel with more emphasis on citrus and sweetness, but balanced nicely. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 26-December-2012 for US$3.29 sampled at home in Washington on 28-February-2013.

In my chalice, it pours a hazy golden orange with a small white half inch head that immediately settles to a film and dies right into the body leaving some white bubbles along the rim of the chalice. The smell is sweet with a nice citrusy/hoppy profile coming fairly strong. The taste has a pretty good combination between the grapefruit and the caramel malt. The palate is about a medium with a decent sticky feel on the mouth and the tongue. It also has a slightly dry aftertaste. I would say this is mostly drinkable. Overall, this is an above average Double IPA, though not a stand-out for its style, I would still have this again.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor Store, Vancouver
Beautiful golden-copper color, hazy; small head. Some aroma of fruity yeast, sweetish. Correct body and mouthfeel; there is some malt flavor, some sweetness, light fruitiness, very light impression of sweet liquorice, some alcohol evidence and no Belgian character.
The archetype of failed American attempts at Belgian styles. Boring.

Golden color, light frothy head. Completely non-descript from start to finish. Beyond boring. Dry.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light floral hops with some medium citrus notes. Taste is also a good mix between some floral hops with some citrus notes thrown in. Body is somewhat below average with good carbonation. Not bad but missing some hops punch to compete with the greats.

Draft - Sweet grapefruit hops with lots of fruit and a bit of spice. Clear amber with a thick but minimal head. Grapefruit and fruit with resin and finishes chalky and bitter. The finish is a bit too much and really gums up the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
