Bottle. Light toffee malt, and weedy grass aroma. Dark amber with moderate head. Mildly sweet toffee malt, and moderately bitter quinine/hay flavor. Okay body. A bit rough.

Bottle. Toffee malt and earthy fresh hay aroma. Copper with moderate white head. Mildly sweet toffee malt, and mildly bitter earthy hay flavor. Good body. A nice Altbier.

Bottle: Barely hazy amber with a thin, off-white head. Toasted caramel aroma. Taste is sweet, toasted caramel malt......a bit of nutty/earthy bitter. Surprisingly rich and nicely bodied. Very pleasant.
Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5
Bottle: Pours clear, bubbled, deep copper-red with a short tan head. Slightly mineral, toffee malt aroma. Taste is toffee malt and slightly bitter mineral water. Gets a bit better after warming, but remains pretty watery and weak.....and never really loses that unpleasant bitterness.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-dark ruby red color with a finger and a half’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a fairly slow pace. Clingy foamy lace clung fairly nice.
The aroma had some toast, biscuit, herbal to floral hop qualities, light amounts of dark bread with a subtle woody presence. Light earthiness.
The flavor presented all of the previously mentioned aromas together, semi-sweet with a decent balancing herbal quality. Aftertaste was malty and so was the finish.
The palate was almost medium bodied, seemed to sit just a tad under for the body. Pretty sessionable and the ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty nice Irish red ale that I could come back to.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A bit fruity/yeasty in the aromas, but not overwhelming. Taste of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a very nice Helles. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

The appearance was a fairly dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off pretty quick. Not much lace.
The aroma had some soft roasty coffee tones with a little bit of dark chocolate nibs biting at the end.
The flavor yielded to the roasty tones - coffee and dark chocolate and lead into the aftertaste and finish.
The feel was between light and medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt good. Pretty dry on my tongue.
S, decent porter trying to show some \"robust\"-ness but seemed more just roast that came a bit under. Maybe again.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-dark mahogany almost brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts up front with some grassy hops. Nuttiness is there but a bit more fainter than expected.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and never really brought the nuts. Malty sweet aftertaste and finish.
The feel was a bit under from being medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, with so many brown ales on the market and me being a fan of the style, I don’t necessarily see this as a top tier one.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy medium orange/amber/light copper color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, and toasted biscuit; and light notes of nuttiness, lemon, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A little too fruity/yeasty in the nose, but not overwhelming. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, and toasted biscuit; and light notes of nuttiness, lemon, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, herbal, grass, light nuttness/fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from lingering bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/creamy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a nice Northern German Altbier style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, flavorful, and easy to drink. Not as much hops and a bit too fruity/yeasty for the style. This was still nicely enjoyable, with plenty of rich malt flavor presence.
