500ml bottle into shaker. Aromas of cream and sour fruit. Hazy golden beer with thin but solid white head. High carbonation. Medium body, flat mouthfeel. Finish is fruity caramel with long long lemon aftertaste. If this is lager, it’s the best lager in the world. But is it a lager? It’s cloudy, complex and full of flavours! Whatever it is, it’s a brilliant beer.

500ml bottle into pint glass. Very cold night in Sydney, beer is room temperature. Nose is sharp, sour, and a little chocolate. Totally black beer with ephemeral tan head, it’s gone! I’m left with a glass of opaque liquid with a faint coffee/chocolate smell. No carbonation visible or in the mouth. Tastes just like an Iced Coffee. Finish is mild iced coffee. Strange. A NSW craft beer that tastes exactly like an iconic South Australian beverage.

Pint on tap at Harts Pub. Strong fruity citrus nose. Golden beer with thin white head. Flat and chalky in the mouth. Zingy juicy fruit finish. Late malt balances it beautifully. Really good.

500 ml bottle into schooner glass. Sweet umami nose from this one. Like a smoked beer but with vinegar! Prune juice appearance with solid foamy white head. Surprisingly watery with a tiny bitterness. Some toasted malt in the abrupt finish. Promises much, delivers very little.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber with a large white head. Aroma of hay, rye bread, kumquats, peach, pepper. Light bodied, short of watery. Quite zesty citrus, peach, some bread, dry, a little astringent and rather soapy at the end. Shame about the soap, it’s a winner except for that.
