Not really red, more like darker iced tea. Has a slight aroma that I think is unique and somewhat astringent if that’s possible. Unique carries over to the flavors. Almost tart but its not. Yes unques all the way round. Comes across fairly mild for the 5.5 it claims to be. Pretty cool label fer sure. Like able fer sure overall.

Got this at the beer store in Nashua. Yes, its brown fer sure. Dark brown. Nice creamy head. Smell of J&L slag on blast-furnace night in Aliquippa while watch a movie at ABC drive in. I see tis 4.3% and I like that. One of the better brown ales I’ve come in contact with. Goes down easy, yes. Has a personality but its never in yer face, good job.

Pours a dark reddish amber from a bottle. Nothing much going on here, either in the nose or the flavor, just a kind of yeasty maltiness. Meh.

Draft @ Thirsty Moose, Dover location. Orange gold color, thin head in a standard shaker glass. Very sweet caramel right from the get go, weak pine hops under all the caramel.

The flavor is drenched in caramel with a light earthy pine in the back end. Bitterness does not linger long. Mouthy feel is almost sticky sweetness. Something tells me this is not an old keg, the brew is just overly sweet. Perhaps it is Diacetyl?

Is that butter I taste? Yeah, pass on this one unless you want more malt in your IPA the actual hop flavor. Big swing and a miss.

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a dark brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is chocolate, roasted malt. Similar flavor sweet finish, good.

Bottle from Bert’s Deep clear reddish brown color with a smallish off white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aromas of caramel toffee and hints of butterscotch. Light earthy hop aroma. Sweet rich caramelized malt sugars with lots of butterscotch and toffee. Light mineral water and earthy hop flavor, light hop bitterness. Medium body moderate carbonation. Decent enough pale ale. Has some diacytyl in the aroma and flavor and that usually ruins a beer for me. For some reason this beer and Pig’s Ear kind of work with that flaw in it.

22oz bottle pours a murky, deep brown with some creamy, white head. Nose is earthy, tree bark, a little soil, a little maple, some dust. Flavor is sweet, maple, malt, brown sugar, a bit of dirt. Dry finish.

Bottle from Bert’s Aromas of coffee caramel toffee and butterscotch with some faint earthy pine. The flavor is what the aroma promised with the bitter roast, burnt toffee and bitter hops lingering in a quite bitter finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. I’m not sure why I keep buying Woodstock beers. If you are married to the yeast you use at least employ a diacytyl rest. The toffee and butterscotch don’t belong in a Black IPA and the coffee in this one is quite strong. One and done.

On tap at Chunky’s in Pelham Amber red color with a minimal head. Sweet caramel toffee maltiness with bits of sulfur and butter. Buttered popcorn beer while watching a movie in a theater, what a concept.

Purchased on a trip to Vermont in a small convenient store. Lots of carbonation creating a light overflow, and a big creamy-frothy beige head that stays very long. The brew is a deep amber colour and gives out aromas of apples at first pour. Then, nutty yeast appears. Fruity malt taste with light yeast and some decent hops. Good, but not my thing.
