Pours light mahogany into a Sam glass. Soapy tan head with good retention recedes leaving scant spiders. Sour bread aromas. Sour chocolate and earthy resin front to back. Lasting milk chocolate finish.

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with little retention recedes to skim rim. Chocolate and earthy hay aromas. Medium bodied leaning to sharpness in the dark chocolate covered pit fruit upfront turning chalky in the lasting finish.

Pours a brilliant deep copper almost brown color a fairly small tan head that I had to coax out with a vigorous pour. Smells of butterscotch mostly. Bits of earthy hop and caramel are in there somewhere but I get lots of diacetyl out of this one. Taste is caramel malt toffee and butterscotch with a definite earthy hop bite in there. There’s a certain mineral water quality in here as well with a lingering earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body and level of carbonation with a sweet slick mouthfeel. 74 IBU’s is a bit surprising, maybe if they were citrus or pine they would have stood up to the butter a little better. This drinks better than it smells, but it really didn’t excite me.

This beer is made nearby. I paid $2.00 for a single bottle at a nearby store. Poured into a Dogfish Head Glass.
A - Poured an almost watery brown color. More like dirty water. Nothing too impressive. Head was half a finger and went away almost instantly.
S - Hmmm. Nutty malts, roasted malts, little hop characters and some bread / earthy yeast
T - Interesting taste. Maple Syrup, earthiness, bread and pepper. I’m getting maybe figs or raisins but nothing too complex. Very simple flavors. Sweeter than expected.
M - Lively carbonation, light bodied, not much linger.
O - It’s a decent beer. Sure, support local breweries and so i am but nothing too amazing about this beer. it’s very drinkable and tasty but not like WHOA this is revolutionary.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 22oz bottle pours a watery, translucent mahogany brown with some cloudy white head. Nose is not great, under attenuated brown malt, maple, apple, cardboard. Flavor is sweet, malty, wet bread. Bland finish. BLECK.

From tap at Sunset Grill. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is spiced with cardemomme and cinnamon. Light caramelish. Smooth malty, toasted and sharply cinnamon spiced. Light bitter. Dense cinnamon finish - wat too much.

12 oz bottle and also had on draft. Nice aroma of fresh cut apples. The taste is like apple crisp dessert. Many hard core craft beer drinkers may say this is a “girl “ beer or “It’s good for someone who doesn’t drink a lot of beer.” Well, that maybe true, but it’s still really is tasty… for a girl beer. Could be a good brew to start somebody on a better beer path. And it’s a session beer at 4.4 ABV.

Another 12 oz bottle Purchased from Bert’s Better Beers, Hooskett, NH. Poured into a pint glass. Fast dissipating fizzy head, tons of carbonation in this one. Yet, the head went down to nothing with no lace. Nose of lots of berries. I get almost nothing but tart berries with a light wheat backbone. Clean and crisp finish. I wasn’t expecting much from this…. And it was a bit better than I thought it would be.

Purchased a 12 oz bottle from Bert’s Better Beers, Hooskett, NH. Poured into a pint glass. Clear transparent amber color. Nose of light malt and butter. Taste follows nose with a lots caramel, toffee and butter. Not bad at all, but I feel this brew is very average, like the rest of Woodstock Inn brews that I have sampled. Ok, nothing to really seek out.
