On tap at the Tanabata Fest. 山椒ポーター (Sansho Porter) 5% a light brown with a sansho pepper and chocolate aroma. Medium bodied with a soft round carbonation, it goes down smoothly. The taste is chocolate cookies & green sansho pepper. Pretty nice.

The door into summer IPA 6.5% 夏への扉 At the Toyama Beer fest. A clear vibrant gold with a big juicy hop bouquet of oranges & tropical fruits. A bracingly bitter flavor with a piney hit at first while the orange comes into play in the finish. Evoking summer check - damn good stuff. As it warms up the pine overwhelms the fruit...

On tap at Watering Hole for 3rd Anniversary. Clear copper color with almost no head. Nose is all brett with sakuranbo (cherry) and almond as well. Some hay and cheese notes too. Taste is very cherry forward with a really nice tartness present. There is little sweetness as well but it is quite muted. Really nice dryness on the finish that is very almond like. This is great and a pleasant surprise. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cats Eye on 26 Jun 2015 at 00:11 - Score: 8. Original review text: Sour and funky with lots of Brett....not really an amber

Draft from Keyaki Spring 2015. Hazy deep straw color with a nice creamy off-white head. Big aromas of banana, clove, bubblegum and wheat all present. Perfectly balanced on the palate, some hefeweizens in Japan tend to lean a little to the sweet side, but this is not sweet at all. Very drinkable. Great finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Weizen (雑穀ヴァイツェン) on 09 Aug 2015 at 00:31 - Score: 7

Draft at Keyaki Spring 2015. Pours a deep brown with a nice tan head. Nose is all cacao nibs, roasted malts, espresso, and peppery arugula. Medium body with a full and rich flavor. The coffee and cacao nibs stand out but plum, raisin and prune come out as it warms up. The finish is slightly bitter and sour with the vegetable qualities really shining. Very complex porter. Great stuff! --- Beer merged from original tick of Ogawa Porter on 09 Aug 2015 at 00:33 - Score: 8

Draft at Keyaki Spring 2015. Hazy gold with a small creamy white head. The nose is all wheat, ginger and apple. Not overly sweet at all. Great balance with a nice spicy edge from the ginger. The apple takes a backseat as far as flavor but is still noticeable. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Really unique take and a solid effort. --- Beer merged from original tick of Mad Scientist Apple Ginger Weizen on 09 Aug 2015 at 00:32 - Score: 7
