Not sure why I bothered buying this, kizakura is at best just ok. Prices are pretty reasonable though. Kizakura Lucky 7 IPA 7% Matte orange color with thick beige foam and soapy lacing. The aroma is caramel and citrus. The taste is bitter green piney hops. Bitter, it tastes like a heat damaged imported IPA from over a decade ago. Ok but kind of meh like many of their releases…

Kizakura made a New England IPA??? Kizakura New England IPA 5% 30 IBU Matte orange gold with an earthy fruity (juicy?) aroma. Medium bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel but the taste is rough, juicy fruity but earthy and not smooth or over the top sweet like the style usually is. Ok but a pretty poor example of the style. Take away tap from Kizakura kappa country.

Can from Yamaya. They certainly have a long list of these Lucky beers. Clear, deep golden with a tall, fine head. Somewhat meaty malt nose--claims to be an umami pale ale and that does come through a bit in the aroma. Rather muted citrus hops with a bit of piny resin too. Flavor is more resinous, medium malt sweetness, orange and grapefruit notes, very bitter finish. Medium body. It has rice in it and I suppose that lightens it a bit. Not bad, but a little too bitter and it's pretty unoriginal, like most of the rest in this series.

Bottle from a Japanese market. Pours shocking dark green with a large foamy light green head, citrus-matcha aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter matcha taste with citrus flavor, thin smooth body, long finish. Very interesting beer.
