About
We are dedicated to the entire experience of craft; from our creative food menu to our unique beers. The adventure started with creating a perfect beer, and we have kept that focus since our opening in 2005 with 31 combined rotating taps plus hard cider and a variety of wines. The Saugatuck Brewing Company (SBC) has a large family friendly pub, outside patio plus a secondary tap room dubbed “The Barrel Room” for multiple different dining and drinking experiences in one building. We operate on a 45 barrel Brew System with 960 barrels of Fermentation Space and the ability to age over 400 wood barrels at one time.

12 fl. oz. can from Craft Beer Kontor, Hannover. A nice dark red brown in the glass, think it´s clear, with a more one finger pale beige head. Pleasant choco malty smell. Taste is also choco, malty, hints of fruits, some sweetness, lactose. Smooth. Low sweetness. Low carbonated. Nice.

Bottle from Beersniffers. Pours a pitch black colour with a small beige head. Strong aromas of blueberries and maple, some milk chocolate, vanilla and hints of liquorice. Taste has more blueberries, maple, milk chocolate and also some ashy notes. Medium to full bodied, low carbonation, smooth very slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice

Can picked up from Biervana, München and consumed at home watching The Platform on Netflix, Saturday 6th June 2020. Pours black with a tan head, aroma is as one would expect i.e. dominated by the barrel ageing, so bourbon wafts. Tastes of bourbon, chocolate, and a little dark cherry, not really picking up the raspberries. It's a little less indulgent than expected, it's smooth, easy drinking for the abv. It's good but was hoping for more raspberries.

Rocky light brown head stayed on a dark brown still body. Malt, confectionery & candy aroma. Medium bodied, soft over the tongue with a tickle on the back. Malt, lactose sugar, Neapolitan ice cream & syrup tastes with a bitter tangy finish. Unusual & very tasty.

12 oz. bottle, $4.99 from Prestige Liquors in Westmont. Packaged October 30, 2019. The beer pours out a black body with a slight brown highlight. There's a stiff tan head that takes a while to dwindle away. The smell is dominated, only slightly, by sweet chocolate, with a bit of strawberry at the side. The taste is mostly on the sweet chocolate side, too. Cocoa can tend to overwhelm other flavors at first. Strawberry taste does show up after a little while. The vanilla taste can get lost in the char of a bourbon barrel, though it finally suggests a bit of unsweetened vanilla bitterness. There's also some malt roast bitterness., but it's not in the way. The alcohol is a welcome warmer, without the bourbon character in some BA stouts. At about six months old, this is a beer that's ready for prime time. I regret not having another to put away and see what happens to it.
