Description
We are dedicated to the entire experience of craft; from our creative food menu to our unique beers. The adventure started with creating a perfect beer, and we have kept that focus since our opening in 2005 with 31 combined rotating taps plus hard cider and a variety of wines. The Saugatuck Brewing Company (SBC) has a large family friendly pub, outside patio plus a secondary tap room dubbed “The Barrel Room” for multiple different dining and drinking experiences in one building. We operate on a 45 barrel Brew System with 960 barrels of Fermentation Space and the ability to age over 400 wood barrels at one time.

Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Named "A Great Big Cluster Fuggle" at the fest. Pours a deep amber orange with a slight haze and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a pretty nice hop note with some light citrus but more grass hops and a hint of a sweet grain backing. Flavor has much more earthy grass notes with a bit of pine a backing earthy grain note making it a bit musty.

Nitro draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Deep orange-brown body, medium creamy beige head. Cerealy nose with Cheerios and malt syrup, biscuity and tangy. Sweet, nutty, cerealy body with a metallic kiss, light and creamy. Nice chewy sweetness with a dry finish. Nice.

Draft. Deep brown body with a fizzy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, strawberries, milk chocolate. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. The beer reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake cereal or Captain Crunch or some cereal heavy on artificially sweet berry flavors. Light on the chocolate and vanilla.

Draft. Light golden, hazy body. Frothy, white head, rapidly diminishing. Light aroma of clove and banana and raw grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly tangy. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Simple and homebrew like. Not a lot of flavor and what’s there is interrupted by a raw graininess.

Draft. Amber body with a fizzy white head. Light aroma of caramel, toasted grain and hints of flowers. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly bitter and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Raw grain taste. Not much finesse in this beer. Not much in the way of a premium bitter either. Too disjointed, rough around the edges.

Deep brown/black body with a tan head, slowly diminishing. Aroma dominated by bourbon, as is the flavor. Notes of caramel, roasted malts, molasses. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. Lots of sweet malts and lots of bourbon don’t allow much of anything else to come through.
