Sampled @ BKL 2017. Fast schwarze Farbe, große beige Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Schokolade, Vanille. Geschmack süß schokoladig, Vanille, Lactose, hohe karbonisation.

500 ml bottle served in mug. Fluffy foam head, chocolate brown colour. Malty smell. Dark bread and roasted malt aroma, but watery. Not bitter, nor sweet taste. Flat. Easy to drink, nothing special. This Zwickl promises more than it holds, since it is sold in wooden beer boxes at a rather high price.

Bottle. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, lacto, earthy. Taste is chocolate, earthy, lacto. Medium carbonation. Ok.

0.5l bottle, thanks Riba! Lovely red amber clear body and a small beige head. Not lasting. Caramel, dry and alcohol. Too much alcohol really. Caramelly taste, sugary bit, soft. Low alcohol thankfully. Just a bit in the finish. Ok stronger lager.

(bottle, 33cl) Stout-like appearance: dark brown, almost black coloured hue with a brown and thick foamy head. Earthy, mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, mocha, leaves and mildly herbal and minty hops. Moderately sweet and mildly roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Earthy and slightly roasted malt character with notes of chocolate, subtle fruity notes of dark berries, leading into a mildly roast-malty, leafy and slightly chocolatey finish with muted alcoholic notes. Nice hybrid. 25.I.1

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, deep copper red. Dense, bubble topped, cream coloured head. Nose has fruited malt loaf. Well baked apple. Some caramel. Hint of almond. Taste is toffee sweet. Soft and foamy mouthfeel. Has a little vine fruit dryness towards the end, but stays mostly sweet throughout. Nice enough, but a bit sticky for me.
