Medium brown. Strong whiskey aroma with caramelly malts, light alcohol and a slight tobacco note. Very soft body, with a sweet, woody character. Quite balanced.

Very dark brown. Rich, slightly chocolatey, with some alcohol and a slightly spicy character. Spicy on the palate with a little acidity late. Good stuff.

Tried on tap at the Florida Brew Fest 2011 addition. Pours opaque grapefruit with copper hues and medium sized bubbled tall off white head. The aroma is straight up estery banana, a little bit of clove like spiciness and just faint pepperiness as well as a sense of earthiness. The taste is crisp and a bit lively with carbonation offering up an even mix of grainy malts, semi ripe banana, some lemon like acidity, spicy yeastiness and a touch of clove. Fairly full flavor in this refreshing hot weather brew.

Tried on tap at the Florida Brew Fest 2011 addition. Pours deep mahogany with tan head. The aroma forcibly pushes out notes of orange, sugar sweetened grapefruit and tropical mango all mixing together with a thin sweet backbone as well as a faint sense of malt roastiness well off in the background. The taste is smooth and starts off with lots of flavor hops coming from grapefruit, ripe orange and mango. By midway it gets a bit resiny as it ramps up and heads into a mild malt roastiness into the finish.

On tap at Peg’s pouring murky dark grapefruit juice with semi creamy white head with some sheet lacing. The aroma has modest notes of banana, cloves and yeasty spiciness as well as a touch of lemon. The taste is bold and full of flavor with banana, cloves, spicy hops, floral hops and some spicy yeastiness in the background. Nice Hefe.

Growler thanks to someone at Sour Fest. Pours with a pale golden body and minimal head. Aroma is spices, herbal and basil. Taste is sour, acidic, lactic, tomato, lemon and salt. Dry mouthfeel. To be honest I really dislike tomatoes and bloody marrys, so this is not my type of beer. Well done for what it was though.

Growler at Maltzillas World Cup 2010 tasting. Pours cloudy pale hay color with thin white head. Sour, fruity aroma. Very sour with flavors of citrus, lemon. Light body with moderate carbonation. Mouth puckering tartness with a dry finish.

32oz growler poured out grapefruit juice mixed with tomato juice showing up murky muddy opacity with no head. The aroma is salty, tomato, celery, funky strange notes and getting more and more tart at the end of the draw as well as a bit black peppery too. Very strange aroma. The taste begins with brief sweetness and then charges up with mouth puckering tartness with odd tomato, celery and the salt around the edges. It stays tart and somewhat refreshing into the finish. The tartness sort of overwhelms the mild tomato flavors and there’s precious little of the berlinerweiss goodness I’ve enjoyed with the base beer.

32oz growler poured out opaque peach–apricot juice with almost no head. The aroma goes from citrus to tart and sour citrus lemon like notes, sweaty socks, more tart notes hitting the nose as well as grapefruit rind and a touch of yeastiness. The taste is puckering tartness and moving into more and more sour funky citrus notes. It ends tart dry and refreshing.
