A hazy pale orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and a sticky dry end.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful chestnut coloured with a warm, red glow. Creamy head that leaves a pretty lacework. Weak caramelish nose. Lightly, sweetish caramel in the flavours. Soft, sweetish and lightly vinous - no real bitterness. 290705

(Bottle 33 cl) Pretty amber coloured with the same, still impurities as found in the "Grand Cru". Flavourwise a bit weak, some malt but lacks both body and character. Some late hoppiness, but I’d expected more. 010298

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with huge amount of floating impurities that never really settle. A reddish tint to it and a big, fluffy head. Rather full-bodied and very sweet, but apparently no sugars added - this is "volmout" - all malt. Strange but very pleasant. 310198

Yellow-brown head, fast gone; cloudy orange-brown beer. Strange nose, reminiscent of deep-frying fat & pickles; must be some acid here - fatty acids? Dark malts obvious. Sweet and sourish taste; grains, wood, point of (I think lactic) acid; bready finish. Sticky MF, well bodied, certain tartness. OK dubbel-brown, just not very exciting.

(Bottle 50 cl) Yellowish golden with a nice, dense head. Starts malty sweet but quickly gets drier to end on a hoppy finish. 021199

(Bottle 33 cl) The good people at "Belgisk Bryg", Lars and Gert, warned me: "This is insanely sweet", they said. And even by Belgian standards, they are SO right. Fully golden, slightly hazy beer with a tall, creamy head. Obvious ale-character, but actually I don’t taste a lot besides the sticky sweetness. Apparently brewed with flowers and plants, but it can’t be the only sources for the sweetness. 090704

(Bottle 33 cl) A golden ale which is reasonably clear until I pour the sediment. Then the color is grey-orange. Very aromatic, along the style of a "Triple" or a paler trappist like Orval. Spicy and refined with quite a lot of sweetness which is at the same time rather discreet. Quite nice. 110304

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with a huge head. Lightly bitter with an underlying sweetness. More full-bodied than most tripels - and even more potent. Not bad at all. 061094
