Description
The name Cramer has been synonymous with Warsteiner since 1753. Today the ninth generation of the clan, Catharina Cramer, carries on a long tradition of brewing excellence, backed by a rich German heritage, a high-quality range and a clear strategy to continue shaping the future of the German and the international beer market.

In 1753, farmer Antonius Cramer was asked to pay beer tax for the first time as his home brewing volumes surpassed by some way the volume allowed for personal consumption. Little did he know that his actions would kick-start a long-standing brewing tradition in Warstein – a small town located in the middle of the beautiful Arnsberg forest, in the heart of Germany’s Sauerland region. Since that date, the business has gone from strength to strength.

Pour from the tap at an interesting German bar and restaurant in Fredericksburg, TX. Serves up very dark, almost completely black and the bartender put a sizeable head of very light tan foam on top. The drink started all right, full of grain and a bit of licorice, but then later some ash turned up as the brew warmed and that squelches my consuming mass quantities.

Clear glass bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a smallish, creamy white head. Good malt aroma with flowery hops. Medium body, surprisingly full malt flavor again with good floral hops. The finish is a little short with next to no bitterness. I like the irony of calling the beer Extra when you reduce the alcohol with about 50%. However in spite of this, the beer is actually surprisingly full-flavored. 171024

Pour is a crystal clear amber with a large frothy white head. Aroma is brown bread and fresh cut grain. Flavor is the same. Fresh baked bread with a lot of fresh milled grain. This was clean, and wonderful liquid bread.
