Can @ home. Unclear orange golden body under a white head. Aroma is mostly like wort with a hint of cooked vegetables. Taste is sweet wort with the same vegetable hint. Quite sweet. Taste more like the wort before brewing process starts, not good at all.

Bottles, many over the years. Clear golden body with a white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of straw and honey. Flavour of sweet malt, cereal and white bread. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Sweet, strong and simple.

Pours clear pale golden color with two fingers of frothy white head. Malty, honey and slightly herbal aroma. Malty-grainy, bready, light honey, grassy and herbal flavor. Light body, light spicy bitterness, dry finish.

Drunk next to the oyster market in Cancale. Medium gold. Caramel nose, sweet with straightforward cara malt flavor and smooth earthy bitterness. Rather simple but nice, easy drinking for its abv.

Draft at Paulaner in the Squaire. Clear bright yellow color, coca cola head. Aroma of subtle lemon. Taste is more lemon soda than beer but adequate on a hot day.

Doppelbocks are difficult to find in Texas, I located this one by a retailer in upstate NY. 11.2 oz bottle with the cap now lifted and headed inside of a Great Heights snifter. I am seeing a clear, shiny amber body carrying a skim of buff tan foam. The nose is grain, straw and caramel. A taste and I get baked bread, ripe fruit, sorghum, caramel and malt. Flavorful. A good beer in a style I enjoy.
