Description
Kinn Bryggeri AS was incorporated in April 2009.

Here at Kinn we create craft beers in the English and Belgian traditions based on the purest mountain water from Sagafjella. Ancient craftsmanship - open fermentation and bottle conditioning - are important to us. None of our beers are ever pasteurised or filtered, and every one of them is brewed in our two breweries in Florø. Kinn beers are available off the shelf throughout Norway, and we also export to selected countries.

440ml can, #2556, bought at Obs Langnes, Tromsø. A creamy white head leaving crocheted lacing on the glass, misty pale yellowish body. Quite prominent aromas of yeasty fruitiness, hints of grassy hops and a spicy scent. Fresh taste of yeasty-like spices and citrus. Mid-dry ripe fruity ending. Medium bodied. Quite alright, (Tromsø, 19.04.2025).

440 ml can, from Coop Extra, Sauda. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, wheat, citrus and mild spices. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, a moderate and peppery bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Slightly unclear golden with a big frothy white head. A bit weak in aroma, mostly malt with hay and dead flowers. Flavor is relatively clean malty/biscuit with sharp bitterness. No fruity bitterness at all and as this seems to be made as an British style IPA that’s OK but I missed some grassy and floral hops at least and suspect this might be a bit out of date (no best before date on bottle). Fine body and moderate, mostly bitter aftertaste. Feels like a extra hopped best bitter or something, like the idea but this was not a hit I my book.

Bottle from Coop. Unclear golden body with a small, fast disappearing white head. Mild aroma, some malt, grainy and hint of fruity yeast. Flavor is very plain, light pale malt, some fruit in general, not much bitterness. Medium body and not much aftertaste. Drinkable, but frankly – even if a golden ale might not be the most exiting style around it could be made a lot better than this. Feels this one is closer to a boring pilsner.

Bottle from Coop. Unclear golden body with a fine off-white head. Medium strong aroma of citric fruit, orange peel and malt. Flavor is medium sweet malt, not very fresh peach and apricot, slightly piny and medium bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Decent, tastes a bit like an older IPA but the date is fine on this, quite fresh.
