Description
Hills is a kraft beer of a small independent brewery near the city of Plovdiv. The place where the classic traditions of brewing become the end product so that we can enjoy a truly pure, high-quality beer together.

Hills is made of pure mountain water from the Rhodopes and specially selected high quality raw materials from Germany. The recipes are by master brewer Wolfgang Trautner - with over 29 years of experience in the industry. The whole process is controlled by three Bulgarian technologists in the brewery, who take care from "A to Hills" for compliance with the "German Beer Purity Act of 1516."

Bottle in Riu Pravets - picked up at Nosferatu in Sofia. Pours perfectly clear honey-gold with a lasting, foamy white head. Great beer, really nails the style. Fairly sweet but not cloying, with nice biscuity malts, touches of honey, pale grains, a hint of bitter straw. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, lightly warming, further dry biscuits, hay, just a nip of residual sugar. Impressive.

Bottle at the flat in Gabrovo - picked up at Nosferatu in Sofia. Pours perfectly clear honey-gold, effervescent, with a frothy, white head. Solid beer overall, nicely dry and smokey, not too sweet, toasted malts, campfire smoke, dried ham. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Fairly dry in the finish, lingering smoke, sun-kissed pale malts, a little grassy bitterness. Sound.

0,4l from tap at Birariya Tangra, Russe. Yellow hazy color, small white head. Smells earthy, spices, grassy, peppery, light marzipan, nice smell. Medium body, soft carbonation. Tastes grassy, earthy, peppery, herbal, grainy, leathery, breadish. Finishes rather bitter with notes of leather, grassy and peppery notes. Decent one but rather bitter (almost too much though)
