Light cracker malt notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a hazy, dull, golden straw color with a medium large, thick, pillowy white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light cracker malt notes. Medium to medium light bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Moderate hop notes of mango, passion fruit and tropical citrus. Lighter dank, resin notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice, hazy, hop forward pale ale. Solid patio beer.

7.6/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 7 Texture 8 Overall 7.5
Poured from a 16 oz can dated July 03, 2020. Aroma is very chocolate forward with lighter roast notes. Balanced vanilla bad strawberry in the background with light alcohol spice. Hints of caramel, toasted bread and toffee. Pours jet black with a medium sized, thick, creamy, mocha head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. No lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with moderately strong notes of chocolate and cacao nibs. Lighter roast notes with even lighter dark caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol spice. Light vanilla and strawberry notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright pastry stout and possibly the first I have had from Temescal. Loads of fudgy chocolate notes, but the vanilla and strawberry are both rather light, especially in the flavor. Could also tone up the sugar and body to make this even more pastry-like.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated June 29, 2020. Aroma is fairly hop forward and full of tropical fruit, especially mango, passion fruit and lychee with hints of tropical citrus and dank, resin notes. Light cracker malt notes and a hint of alcohol. Pours a hazy, pale, straw color with a large, thick, pillowy white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and small legs. Flavor has a slight sweetness with medium light cracker malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness with light alcohol notes. Moderate hop notes with mango, passion fruit and lighter dank, resin notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but I like Galaxy hops in the aroma more than in the flavor. Solid malt and bitterness, but the hop flavor isn't as fruity as in the aroma.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated June 23, 2020. Aroma is moderately hop forward with lots of grapefruit, tropical citrus, guava and dank, resin notes. Light cracker malt notes and hints of light caramel. Pours a slightly hazy, golden color with a large, thick, pillowy white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Flavor has a light sweetness with medium light cracker malt notes and hints of light caramel. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol note. Moderate hop note of grapefruit, lemon-lime, pine and dank, resin with lighter tropical citrus. Mouthfeel is medium to medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent pale ale. Comet isn't my favorite hop, but it works alright by itself. Malt profile is light, but strong enough to carry the hops. Fairly easy drinking.

Really leans into the toasted grain notes of a Vienna lager, to the point it takes on a burnt corn sweetness that dominates the profile. Mild notes of wheat bread and caramel, with a modest floral bitterness dusted by apple and yeast. A bit much.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated June 23, 2020. Aroma is balanced and not particularly hop forward. Medium light cracker malt notes. Moderate hop notes of tropical citrus, grapefruit, orange, mango and dank, piney resin notes. Hints of alcohol. Pours a moderately hazy, dull, golden straw color with a medium large, thick, frothy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Flavor is slightly sweet with light medium light cracker malt notes. Moderately strong bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Moderate notes of grapefruit, orange, tropical citrus and a decent amount of piney resin notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but it's missing the juicy, fruity esters I generally expect in a hazy IPA. This is more like a cross between a NEIPA and a West Coast one.
