On tap. Light amber. Fruitful nose. Sherbet mouth feel and taste. Middling sourness and lovely for it.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/6/2019. Pours a deep brown with a small head. The nose features lots of raspberry against a chocolate and coconut background. Taste wise, it is quite Wagon Wheel like - chocolate, marshmallow and raspberry are all prominent. I also get a bit of coconut, though that's nnot really Wagon Wheel like. The palate is a touch slick and the carbonation average. The actually comes together quite nicely. I could quite easily down one of these with its biscuity namesake.

Taster at GABS. Dark beer, Aroma of coffee. Tastes like a Wagon Wheel after a cup of coffee. Fruity, chocolaty, touch of coffee(but not too much). This is fun.

Bottle. Amber with a nice dense, lasting white head. Aroma of pine, woody herbs, berry, mango, oranges, bread. Smells moody and tenor register and it is but it's drier and cleaner than suggested with dank fruity and wizened berry notes yielding to sprightly herbal bitterness. Interesting and pungent hop combo well shown off. I can imagine this would drink really well with the sort of food you an get around Bright in autumn.

On tap at Hopfest #13 at Alehouse Project. Pours black with healthy but dissipating head. Burnt toast, toffee and caramel nose. Simialr flavours with some chocolate in there. Very welcome shift in flavours after a night on the hops.

Bottle. A club beer but available in shops. Ebony with a light tan head that gradually fades to a fat coat. 3+ Aroma of roast, licorice, some chocolate, hints of banana, smoke, brioche. Smooth texture, medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Lots of licorice at first but roast and mocha join and there's some smoke and a nip of bitterness at the end that really creeps up after a while. I think it's that along with the yeast element that made this work so well - there's quite a lot going on but the finish lightens things and makes it fun to drink in much the same way as (say) a St Bernardus beer. Methodically adventurous.

Bottle. Somewhat gloopy pour is almost opaque orange with a cm of white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, grapefruit, weedy herbs, bread. You wouldn't be sure of actual mango but you wouldn't be surprised. The taste is sweetly tropical at first with some vague bready malty backing, but then bitterness and zestier aromatics grip a little and it dries out towards a finish that's decisive if not overtly bitter. Not really my sort of thing (I'm not big on mango) but the finish brings things together very well.
