Description

0.33 l bottle at Marko’s place, best before June 2016, thanks Marko for sharing! Clear, pale golden amber with a tan to white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma caramel, honey, some vanilla and some marmelade. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy taste of caramel, honey, some vanilla and a bit of plastic, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, rather boozy finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat. Not that good.

0.15 l on tap at ’Craft & Draft’. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, tan to white head. Sweetish, fruity-spicy aroma of blackberry, licorice, orange jam and some honey. Sweetish, fruity-spicy taste of blackberry, licorice, orange jam, some honey and toffee, followed by a short, slightly bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, flat. Just on the edge of being too spicy, don’t like it that much, still quite okay though.

(Draught at Kafé België, Utrecht, 18 Feb 2016) Amber colour with dense, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of orange peel, apricots, caramel and toffee. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, dried apricots, caramel, rye bread and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well made. Nice one.

On tap at Craft & Draft. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of big peppery yeast and dough upfront with a light peach character coming up the rear. Flavour is above light sweet and light moderate bitter, the peach coming out more as you drink. Light to light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap @ Arendsnest, sample size. Clear yellow color. White head with good retention. Aroma’s: sweet, herbs & spices (clearly ginger, probably clove, cinnamon. Retronasal still herbs & spices, coconut, slightly spicy. Flavor is moderate sweet, with spices.Light to medium bodied. There’s some spiciness that’s warming, perhaps the ginger. Finishes a bit dry, herbal. Nice, but I wouldn’t want to drink a 750 of this.
