Description
OWA beer was born in May 2006. It was born and designed for the best Belgium and Japanese fusion food experience. It is indeed a very good combination with SUSHI and YAKITORI (weet soy sauce). The brewery is located in the famous district of Uccle in Brussels, only 2kms from the Moeder Lambic in Saint Gilles. Leo Imai started to brew in December 2008 and in 2009 he made a kitchen laboratory in the brewery, and researched the best marriage with japanese food.

Sample from bottle at 17th Kerstbierfestival in Essen. Dark clear brown color, bright white edge head. Aroma of coffee and feet, in a somewhat good way. Taste is slightly sour coffee soda. Interesting.

sampled 33 cl. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2011: black as it should be with a slight red hue & tanned head – S: lots of Belgian hops & spices, bit duller & not quite what I expected – T: grains, light dark malt, Belgian hops, plenty of spices, dark fruits, touch of booze in the finish – B: rather light & slightly sparkling – ok maybe not as awesome as I was hopping, I mostly got it because the name seemed cool, total geek thing

Cloudy dark amber beer with fine adhesive white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, yeast and roasted malts. MF is square flat and texture is watery. Tastes somewhat sweetened, malty. Aftertaste is just a little hoppy. Where are the roasted malts from the nose? Nothing special.

Japanese beer brewed in Belgium for Japanese restaurants. Interesting! and the beer was actually quite nice to drink. Pours amber, nice beige head. Aroma is yeasty, light rice notes, some roasted malts coupled with floral scents. Taste, malty, light addition of rice, some caramel with light fruity notes, possibly some dark fruits noted as beer warmed up; raisins. Some floating sediments add medium carbonation beer. Simple and easy to drink, tasty!

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a dense and lively off-white head. Lightly astringent Brettish aroma. Light-bodied with a heavy carbonation, astringent and leathery with a light fruitiness and some yeast. Interesting. 190209

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of spices - especially coriander, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes os spices - again mainly coriander, leading to a dry spicy finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a fizzy off-white head. Dry brett, fruity and yeasty aroma. Mild smoked flavoured, light orange to citrusy fruity with a mild caramel malt base. Ends mild smoked and yeasty, somewhat dry brett-ish. Not clean but not unpleasant as such.
