Description
The reason Jamie Emmerson and Irene Firmat started Full Sail in the first place was to build a company that was completely different from the ones where we’d previously worked. It wasn’t about business as usual. It was about finding our calling in life — about truly appreciating our “human resources,” and balancing work, life, family and friends in a way that makes life truly worth living.
Determined to make world-class beer in our own backyard, one of our first, and perhaps best, decisions was to invest in new, state-of-the-art brewing equipment. So we bit the bullet, laid down our borrowed cash, and spent the better part of 1987 installing the new system. Our love for the environment is what drives our sustainable practices, so pure water, local ingredients and responsible processes are poured into each and every tasty pint.

Dang, haven't had a hazy in like a week! Hits the spot. I wouldn't binge on a sixer, though. I always preferred chocolate to vanilla shakes.

Bottle from Taniguchi. Deep dark cola black with ruby highlights and a tan head. It has a soft cocoa aroma and minty herbal hops. The taste is good too, medium bodied with a well balanced bitter hop character and dark Kakao. Tasty.

Bottle from Beer Ma. Full Sail Atomizer IPA 7% This one has the tag line “sci-fi suds for a wifi world”. The aroma is tangy citrus that is a little sharp and skanky. The beer has a medium body and a pretty well balanced flavor and has an earthy tangy citrus over a fairly sweet base. Not as drinkable as the pale but more fun and complex. Solid. I like Full Sail, they’ve yet to blow my mind but have one of the cheaper price points in Japan (roughly 500¥) and are usually pretty good.

I like the tag “Talk Nerdy to Me” on the neck of the bottle but I don’t know what they mean by ultrasonic infused... Full Sail Atomizer Pale Ale 6.6% A clear copper with a fizzy head that left a thin foamy film on top, it’s very clear and looks like a classic APA. The aroma is a classic pine/citrus with hints of caramel sweetness from the malts. Medium bodied with orange and citrus, malt sweetness then guava and caramel plus a touch of fleeting bitter pine. A pretty solid though somewhat simple in profile APA. Alright.

On tap at Pietro’s Pizza in Hood River. Clear golden pour with a two finger cream white head with excellent retention. Taste is lightly bitter, lots of citrusy hop flavor. Lingering pithy bitterness.

12 oz bottle from a six pack. Aroma is citrus peel, pine, wet stone, vanilla. Pours hazy golden with a collapsing bone white head with decent retention. Taste is lightly bittersweet, finishing dry. Not really what I would think of when talking about a milkshake IPA, but it’s not bad.

A ridiculously clear amber brown with a small wispy beige head and a peppery toffee biscuit aroma. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is a bit average with caramel and bread notes some paste and fruits with a dry some spicy herbal honey finish. Quite drinkable but a little too dry for me.
