Description
The reason Jamie Emmerson and Irene Firmat started Full Sail in the first place was to build a company that was completely different from the ones where we’d previously worked. It wasn’t about business as usual. It was about finding our calling in life — about truly appreciating our “human resources,” and balancing work, life, family and friends in a way that makes life truly worth living.

Determined to make world-class beer in our own backyard, one of our first, and perhaps best, decisions was to invest in new, state-of-the-art brewing equipment. So we bit the bullet, laid down our borrowed cash, and spent the better part of 1987 installing the new system. Our love for the environment is what drives our sustainable practices, so pure water, local ingredients and responsible processes are poured into each and every tasty pint.

Tap @ Devil Craft Hamamatsucho. Clear golden pour with some white foam. Fruity nose with a bit of hops, quite tropical. Tastes creamy, oaty character is quite strong, medium hops that are well balanced with overall creamy body. Nice tropical and juicy IPA with enough bitterness. Good one.

Full Sail Malted Milkshake IPA 6.8% Hazy apricot juice looking pour with a thick head of foam. The aroma is juicy but with a creamy vanilla character. Smooth medium bodily with an oats and lactose/vanilla sweetness added to a zesty creamsicle orange flavor. Quote good for the 5-600¥ I paid for it....

Bottle. 2017 vintage. Aroma is oak, bourbon, ash. Flavor shows vanilla, bourbon, and cocoa. Bourbon does not overwhelm the brew and gives a nice warming after the sip. Hints of dark fruits meld with the bourbon. Nice!

Bomber. Ten year old cellared bottle bought from the brewery a couple months ago. Aroma is caramel, sherry, dark fruit, apple, lightly grassy. Pours mostly clear amber with some sediment floating around underneath a collapsing beige head. Taste is sweet and vinous like sherry, with caramel and dark fruit flavors. Slight oxidation, but nothing like one would expect for a ten year old bottle. Carbonation is a little soft. This is tasting mighty fine right now.

22 oz. bottle with no date coding. Sat in cellar about a year. A near clear amber appearance. Aroma is weak bourbon, weak dark fruit, some toffee. Flavor is a reflection with a hint of oak in the finish. It’s ok.
