About
We have been brewing beer for beer lovers since 1994. The brewery was founded in the city of Bergen op Zoom (The Netherlands) which is situated at the banks of the Eastern Scheldt (Dutch: Oosterschelde). In 2008 the brewery moved to the city of Hoogstraten in Antwerp Province, just across the Belgian border with The Netherlands. There we continued to brew well balanced beers, classic Belgian with a modern touch. Many characteristics still refer to our birthplace. Our mascot the crab is also the mascot of Bergen op Zoom and the two so called ‘wild men’ are shown in the flag and coat of arms of the city since 1622. These wild men are still shown on all our labels, portraying the different beer names.
Every sip of Scheldebeer has been brewed in our own brewery, build with love and care. We are ambitious brewers who prefer craft beers with a sense of the past and a taste of the present. True to traditions but always looking for an exciting balance between nostalgic and new, modest and daring. Our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurized and have bottle refermentation. opalescent darker golden colour, moderate sized creamy ecru-ish off-white head; aroma of coriander, fruity, floral, orange peel oils, grainy, lemon zesty and lemongrassy notes; taste of grassy, lemongrassy, grainy-bread crusty, some fruity and coriander notes; quite good one!

Pours clear blonde, verybsmall white head fades fast. Scent is grainy, wort like. Sweet. T is bit bitter, but very generic and intense, malty/ cereal base. Very 13 in a dozen, sweetish, very clear NA beer. Touch more hops, perhaps, but not nearly enough to be interesting.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a shaker. Clear deep golden colour, small fizzy white head, mostly diminishing, no lacing. Aroma sweet malt, grain, wort, grassy hops. Taste medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, grain, wort, hops. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, husky notes, acceptable.

Bottle, 9.0%. Sweetish caramel aroma with notes of spicy hops, almost smells like a noble hop. Hazy amber colour. Big stable plasticky white head. The flavour is yeasty, sweetish, fruity with a faint note of the aforementioned hop. Spicy and sweetish hop note. Citric finish. Quite high carbonation. Late yeasty aftertaste.

330ml bottle. Clear, auburn colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Nutty, dark malty and slightly caramel malty as well as slightly yeasty fruity aroma, hints of nuts and plum. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, minimally toasty and nutty, dark malty, slightly yeasty fruity, notes of caramel, some plum. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, soft carbonation. Nice colour, nice mouthfeel, nice fruitiness - um... nice!
