Description
At Moon Dog we love crafting bloody delicious beers that are fun and a little bit different. We've been doing it since 2010 at our rad brewery in the backstreets of inner Melbourne’s Abbotsford. Over the years we’ve grown a heap, adding our tropical brewery bar paradise, the ballroom oasis function space, and a freakin' big fancy production brewery to keep more delicious beers flowing. We’re a proudly independent, Australian owned craft brewery, still run by the same guys that started it all those years ago.

Pours hazy gold with a small head.
Nose shows pineapple, lemon, lime, soapy notes/cleaning products.
Flavours include more lemon cleaning products, lychee, sweet malt. Cloying.

Tap. Black, a tan head fades to the rim fairly quickly. Boozy aroma with mocha, rumbling roast, caramel, vague fruit. Incredibly sweet with cherry or raspberry lollies, brown sugar, chocolate. Some bitterness and a little oak help a lot to balance things but it's still too sweet for me.

330ml can. Murky pinkish-brown colour, brief white head. Aroma of sweetened plums; pleasant but not much else. Taste is more interesting, with sweet plums, minerals, a touch of grain, biscuit malts with a touch of yeast, then a moderate sour finish with a modest bitterness. Nice smoothness on the palate with a moderate carbonation. Good.

330ml can from Beer52. Very slightly hazed gold pale with small bubbly head, spotted retention. Aroma of malts and citrus, notably orange. Has the scent of one I had from a Flavourly pack which isn't promising. Taste is malty, orange, pine with a modest dry bitter finish. Nice body to this but the carbonation is a bit aggressive on the palate. Its pleasant but a bit run-of-the-mill.

330ml can @ 6.5%. Slightly hazy amber, small white head, spotted retention. Aroma of lime, pineapple and lactose. Taste is lime, creamy lactose, vanilla, pineapple chunks. Potentially this could be too much but the moderate body is not cloying and the carbonation gives it a nice refreshing zing. Very well made.

Bottle. Almost black. A tan head lasts a little while. Mostly raspberry aroma with some pie crust and roast lurking behind. That pastry feel continues upon a sip, again with lots of mostly sweet raspberries. The roast and some bitterness controls the sweetness pretty well. Not bad at all.
