Description
At Moon Dog we love crafting bloody delicious beers that are fun and a little bit different. We've been doing it since 2010 at our rad brewery in the backstreets of inner Melbourne’s Abbotsford. Over the years we’ve grown a heap, adding our tropical brewery bar paradise, the ballroom oasis function space, and a freakin' big fancy production brewery to keep more delicious beers flowing. We’re a proudly independent, Australian owned craft brewery, still run by the same guys that started it all those years ago.

330ml can from Farmers Bar, Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, fizzy tan head. The aroma is coffee, hazelnut. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a light, watery, sweet chocolate, light coffee palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Watery and fizzy. Moon Dog, you can’t be serious? I spent so many enjoyable afternoons in your Abbotsford brewery drinking some amazing small batch beers and then you brew a watery sugar bomb like this? You can’t seriously call this a stout. It’s beers like this that will one day drive me back to drinking Fosters!

They've been running with this crap joke for more than a decade. I like that. Can. Gold with a head that quickly fades to nothing. Lightly fruity with twangy wheat behind. Sweetish with quite rich pomegranate but only a little of its - or the base beer's - tartness. But tasty and quite refreshing.

Draft at Dock No.13, Bangkok. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a short-lived, bubbly white head. The aroma is grainy malt, boiled sweet citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, juicy sugary boiled sweet, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draft at Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong, Bangkok. Poured a hazy light amber colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is big Kiwi fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, somewhat light, malt earthy, kiwi, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nothing special. Fine as a session beer, but a little bland and no defining flavours. It’s somewhat sad when you think this beer has been shipped all the way from Melbourne to Bangkok where its sold for outrageous prices and I have to ask why? This beer cost 15 AUD for a tiny glass and it’s so not worth it.

330ml can into glass. From Porters Liquor, Bexley. Strong smell of Apricot. Flavour is tart, finish is lingering and yeasty. The dryness encourages more drinking. Nice and refreshing, it's gone!
